He helps his son onto the sofa and sits beside him.
He responds to Helene telepathically

Deetric feels twinge in his head. His eye narrows slightly but he doesn't turn around. "Helene," he says, starting to cook the toast, "Who are you talking to? I know your telepathing. Probably to Bassarov right? So, you can't talk to me about things, you have to consult... him." Deetric heards the bitterness in his own voice and instantly regrets having spoken. But... he feels such a burning jealousy. The man raped her and she talks to him instead of her fiance?! "I'm sorry Helene, I didn't mean anything."

Bassarov thinks that it would be awkward to spend time with her, but if he does, the rebels would see that and think more highly of her.
"I wonder if Deetric would become upset if I started to spend time with your mother? It would only be to show the rebels that she is a good person, and that I approve of her...anyway, I should treat her more nicely. She has always been kind to me."
Bassarov then sees Lulu enter his apartment.
"Hello Lulu, sure I'll do a favor for you."

"Helene, I have wronged you. I have. I think we should become friends. If the rebels see us together they will start to think more highly of you." Bassarov replies telepathically.
He turns to Lysander.
"Well it is up to your mother I suppose. She has a free will to do as she pleases. If Deetric truly loves her, he will dismiss those jealous feelings, see that I am not a threat to him, and allow Helene to spend time with me"

I bite my lip..."There was a really nice lady I knew when I was little...I think her name was Helene...anyways I remembered my mother's name was Helene. She knew you so I was wondering if you knew me? But the favor is could you please find out if she is my mother?"...((Helene would this be okay with you?))

While I was talking to Toivo, I saw something interesting. "Oh wow an art festival." I looked at Lemm who was eager to sign up for something. He read the sheet. "A lesson sign up sheet.. That's cool." What had me more interested was the art festival.
