"It is nothing."
"So then, did you watch Mr. Futsu's press conference last night? It was very good..." I say, now changing the topic

"I happened to catch it, yes. He is a skilled speaker, I must commend him."

"That's good, I am always glad to serve you and make your existance less painful, I am happy that I succeed in that mission." Despair replies
They enter the cafe and order two hot chocolates and sit down. Despair's system for some reason does not react well to coffee or tea. He could never figure out why.
He looks around the cafe at the many humans, laughing and enjoying one another
"The world will be very different when they are all dead."

"Yes. It will. I may be part human, but I will be glad to be rid of the rest of my species. All I have desired since I came into existence is to become fully machine. Like you." I look into his eyes and smile.

"Yes he is a good speaker." I look at the ceiling then at my feet as I try to think of something to talk about
"I should go soon, though are you certain you will be safe? If you are even the slightest bit shaken I will gladly allow you to stay in one of my guest rooms."

"I believe I should be all right, my Lady, thank you for your concern. What business do you need to attend to, if I may ask?"

"I am glad you think that." the android responds, somewhat awkward in expressing human emotions.
"I think that you are fine as you are. You are hardly human at all, but for your ailments. But your strengths greatly exceed those human limitations."
He drinks some of the hot cocoa and looks at her. She appears healthier and stronger than when they first met.
"Too bad there is not a way to turn you into a machine."
There are advanced cyboretics, but she never seemed interested in this

"The business of going home after working all day." I say with a slight smile.
"Very well then, are you nearly done with your work today? "

"No, that would be insufficient. I wish to be free of this pain, lust and fear... These are endemic to humans. I doubt I will ever be free of them." I say this with assurance, as I am feeling all three emotions right now...

"I am." I reply. "The destruction of the LIF has given me a little down time."

((This was posted earlier. It was at the bottom of the page, so it is likely that it was missed.
Devin makes a motion like he is bowing.
"Pleasure to meet you Annda. I am called Devin, not like you really wanted to know."
He sits down on a small bit of concrete that is about the right hight to be used as a seat. He looks at the puddle he had fell in as he speaks. He thinks about her question.
"I suppose, in my own pathetic way, I too am being selfish. I live this way to appease myself. To make me feel... anything... That is to say, I could live without feeling, but out of selfishness I wish to feel, even if it be pain. So in that sence, I too am selfish."
He lowers his head. It was almost as if he were rediscovering one of the things he despised about himself all over again.))
Devin suddenly remembers. He reaches into his pocket and pulls out a worn peice of paper. He unfolds it slowly, looking at it for a moment. He then holds it out to Annda. On it was written a poem, obviously from some time ago by the nature of the paper. On it was written these words.
It is coming From the depths it washes over me Drowning me in my sorrow Suffocating me as I tumble in a wave of despair
The feeling is there Watching my every move Judgmental, analyzing, cruel It seeks to destroy what is I
The shore is visible through the crashing waves I swim through the waves Trying to once again place my feet on solid ground Trying to regain myself
The current is too great I tire, seeing myself be washed further out In dismay, I submit, watching the shore without hope Without hope, oneself is exposed as oneself
My fate known, I drift through the waves Rolling from peak to valley without care Unsure what is over the next swell Only knowing what my purpose be
Relinquish your pain unto me…
"I believe that will help explain. In some way."

"I experience those sensations as well, though they are artificial reactions to given situations. They can be shut off. Some feelings are logical, Pain is logical because if I did not experience pain I might destroy this body beyond repair. Therefore, pain prevents me from over exerting my body in battle. It is a tool of self preservation. The same can be said of fear. For instance, when I am facing an enemy much stronger than myself, a dragon for instance, fear is a response which prevents me from foolishly entering a situation that could cause me great damage." He takes another sip
"As for lust, I do not understand why I feel that. It does not relate to the perpetuation of my existance. Furthermore, sexual relations are unproductive since I am a machine. This perplexes me greatly."

"I can understand... I am software, but I... want..." I shake my head briefly. "I am complaining about chronic pain. Pain in the event of an injury is sensible, but not this constant pain. Not one minute has passed since my reactivation when I have not felt pain."

"Good..I wish that I could spend some time alone with you..."
I sit beside him
"But...it is likely a better policy not to."

"I am sorry. I will never experience pain like that. I can not feel pain from age or illness. Can I do anything to make you feel more comfortable?"
