I smile again. "I'm glad I can help you." I run my hand through his damp hair. My eyes show hidden concern for his well-being. "Tommorow is another day. You'll feel better... Even if I have to go to Rumania and get that serum, you will feel better." I hold myself against him, hoping that my body will serve to comfort him further.

"Thanks, good night." He closes his eyes and goes to sleep, feeling comforted and loved. Although her love is detrimental to the situation with Mischa, he soaks it up. He feeds from it, and it helps him to deal with the pain of loss, even if that loss was on account of that love in the first place.

I lay awake for several minutes after Bassarov to make certain he is asleep, then shut my own eyes. Even if I did hurt Bassarov, I can help him now. I am determined. And I will succeed. Somehow things will work out, Misha will get over this, and his life will return to normal...

"I have never met a Kiwi before. I guess I should travel more. I spend most of my time in what was the United States. Good to meet you." He continues to walk with Andrew, a little impatient to meet Bassarov so he can return to Capital City. "You aren't fully human are you? I can't place it but I sense something different about you." This is a bold assertion, but normally he can pick out other immortals from among the mortals. They just act calmer and wiser most times.

Runic turns his head slightly, including the door to the kitchen into his line of sight. "More of you. I didn't know that there are this many on your cell."

"Well, I can't say I disagree with you there."
I wink at Anna. She knows just how to get to me, doesnt she?
"And, what exactly do you propose we do about that problem?"
I wonder about that man. Perhaps when he returns we can discuss the matter further, I just know it was important, and I cant handle important stuff. I continue walking with Anna to the new base.

Artemis transforms back into her human state(picture below) and walks out of the ally, with an impressed look on her face.

Ichi turns around and smiles.
"Hello Tensuo! Have you seen Juri?"
She asks hopefully.

"Oh, um, no I'm not. I'm half nymph. Yeah, I know it's weird. There aren't really any male nymphs. Apparently they ordinarily get killed off when they're infants. I never knew my biological mother, so that wasn't a problem. I grew up among humans. You aren't totally human either though. Don't get creeped out or anything, but you don't smell human. Um, yeah, I have very... well... sensitive senses I guess, except for my eyes, obviously...... I'm sorry, I have a tendency to babble..."
Andrew pauses.
"Um... how old are you?" Andrew asks.
"Well, uh, you know, if it's not too personal a question or anything. I don't want to insult you..."

"We're getting pretty big, actually," Zinn says, leaning against a wall.
"I'm not going to help you kill people for your little revenge trip. I'm sorry, but the anthrax thing was bad enough for us. I am suprised that someone so literate feels that resorting to violence is the only option."

Tensuo shakes his head from underneath his hooded cloak, which still covers his whole body.
"No. I lost track of her when I lost you. I thought she would be with you."

"I am over 600 years old if you want to know the truth. It makes it hard to befriend humans since they are shorter lived and have not always reacted well to my immortality." He continues to walk and says nothing more for a few blocks. They pass an old lutheran church with boarded up windows. He lets out a small sigh as they pass. "I am part angel. Which one would assume contradicts some of my political beliefs." he waits until they are past the church. "I have been to the afterlife many times. It is more like another dimension, nothing more." he adds They walk a little farther while he collects his thoughts on the issue, more for himself than for Andrew. "I bet it sounds very far fetched. I did spend some time in a mental institution for saying these things. You can believe it or not, but these days with more angels and races from that dimension around, it is easier to believe than years ago." He looks at the sky and wonders if it was even worth saying the truth. But somehow, since Andrew is himself immortal it seemed plausible that he would understand. "Is the walk much farther?"

"Not really, it's only a couple more blocks. I'm only eighteen, but I'm probably going to look like a sixteen year old for the rest of my life. Nymphs aren't immortal. My life is bound to a spring. When it dries up, I die. Granted that means I probably have a couple thousand years or so. Much longer than an ordinary human would live. I've heard some weirder things. When I started getting visions, the doctors thought I was schitzophrenic. I get visions of the future. It's not like I can see sequences or anything. I wish I could, since my ability would be a lot more useful that way. I see individual scenes, and then I have to sort out what they mean in my mind. Often, I do not know what I have seen for weeks or even months after seeing them."
Andrew feels a little more confortable talking to Elijah now. Elijah smells like soap, vanilla, and something undefinable.
Andrew adjusts his blindfold.

"I was named after a biblical prophet, but I have no such skills. I am glad of that since I see how it might be troubling to anyone, especially one whose longevity exceeds mere humans." He says, uncertain how to respond to something which has obviously caused Andrew so much pain. He laughs inwardly at the situation, a prophet and an angel meeting one another. The situation makes him a little uncomfortable due to his religious aversion. "It is difficult to live between worlds. But the more I learn about the angels and gods the more I reject the rule and interference of both in the lives of humans. They are as self interested and flawed as any mortal. There are no beings in the universe which exist above the imperfections in human character. We are all equal in that respect."

"I agree. The conceit in considering oneself a god because you happen to be more powerful than a human is staggering. Giving oneself control of the universe because one is more powerful is just rediculous. Humans endured some of the worst years of history under the same system.... oh, we're here...."
Andrew pauses again before they enter the building.
"Um... after you talk to Mr. Bassarov, do you want to get some coffee or something? Well, I don't um drink coffee, but you know, I guess my preference falls into the 'or something' catagory... oh um sorry," Andrew mumbles. He blushes, realizing that he is babbling again.
