With Lady Violet gone, I return to my room and lie down upon my bed. Though I know I will not be able to work anymore this night, I also know that sleep will elude me as well.

My eyebrows raise slightly at Kolov's blatant omission of information, but knowing him, I let it pass without comment.
"Well, it is good to see that you are still doing so well in the world. Have you been keeping busy or is this just a cushy desk job?"

I wrap my arms around him and nuzzle and kiss his neck and shoulders. "I'm glad I can help you... Maybe I should just move in here?" I half joke. I can feel his pain, his emptiness, and whilst it is less than before it is still profound. "I love you, more than anything. I just want to help you to cope."
