"I believe in this. I mean, the rebels are just as violent and bad. If they just obeyed the laws we wouldn't fight them anyway."

"No problem. I know, sometimes it seems like things are wrong, but, what can a person do? I like working for Red Infinity and believe in what we do. " I make him a malt and set it on the table. I make one for myself as well. I sip my malt and feel happy. I mean, we are no more evil than anyone else. Why worry?

I return to the base and sit around boredly. We really need to organize something. I do more sitting around than fighting.
Has anyone seen Lysander? I ask to whoever is listening

"I haven't either. I love the old buildings. They have so much character," Raz says. She looks up at Ezra. He is a few inches taller than she is.
"I haven't had the opportunity to leave the base for a while. Everything there has a function. It's nice to see a little art, despite Red Infinity. When Red Infinity is gone, I hope that we have more art. I have no talent or capacity for creating it, but I know what I like."

Lilith isn't sure who Linette is, but is sure it's not her. She looks at Lysander and then at Deetric. "One, I'll dress as I d**n please and two, I'm not Linette. Infact, I have no clue who the hell that is. I'm Lilith. Through, I suppose you haven't been around me really at all so you don't know me that well at all."

They walk along a canal, past old style homes which slant towards the sky. Ezra wonders if the foundation of the city is stable since there are so many sloping buildings. He gropes for something interesting to say about art or the architecture, but only draws a blank. Colourful ducks swim between the many houseboats parked neatly along the canal. "I don't think I could live in a houseboat. I like to be grounded." He says awkwardly as he watches a woman painting on the deck of her houseboat. She is dressed in a colourful geometic patterned skirt which he finds tacky, but supposes it goes along with some artistic lifestyle that he will never understand.

"I prefer solid ground too," Raz says simply.

"Lilith I know who you are, I was addressing Linette. She's my daughter and she's right over there. It's been a while since I saw you though," says Deetric, turning to face Lilith now. "Are you here looking for your mother?"

Ezra stares at the boat for a while, as if in deep thought, but more or less trying to come up with something to talk about. He doesn't spend much time talking and keeps to himself a lot. He therefore lacks conversational skills. He doesn't like talking about himself. He would rather talk about the world or ideas than his own life and feelings.
"I am not sure if I like Amsterdam. It feels disorderly. Look at these slanted buildings. Their foundations have been rotted away by the sea. The people act freer, Red Infinity's drug and sex laws are looser here. But really they are more trapped than others. It is an illusion of freedom within the confines of that international prison." He states with more spirit than his normal conversation.

((Um, I'm with Helene and Andrew... at least I think I still am. )) Linette smiles and looks at her mother. [shadow=white,left,300]"I can't wait to meet her and go to the nymph house! What's it like there?"[/shadow]

"Amsterdam reminds me of Capital City, but with more water. It is ironic that Red Infinity and the communists call religion the opiate of the masses, when actual opiates are the opiate of the masses," Raz observes.

Aneurin hopes that his sister is fine as he walks toward the Rebel Base in Helsinki, since it was the base closest to his house. She never was very well on her own, but he hoped she would be fine while he was gone.
He arrives at the base's door and knocks, since it would be rude to just walk in. If no one answered through then he may have to.

"Revolution is the opiate of the communist." He states.
"I suppose anything can be a drug if it is used to escape the realities of this world. All faiths can serve as either a weapon or a drug. " He feels a little more relaxed and sighs deeply.
"But how can people be blamed for wanting escape..."

"Faith isn't about escapism, it's about clarity. It's about seeing the world more purely and more beautifully than one could manage alone. Using religion as an escape is... I can't even think of it that way. I can't think of religion as a weapon or a drug. Faith is about wanting to touch God. To touch the stars. To touch our own humanity, and figure out what this is all about," Raz says in a calm, passionate tone that is usually reserved for when she is discussing her faith.
"It's about wanting to be more than we are. To become enlightened."
