Tristen was taking a stroll down the streets of the city when he spotted a girl (Miho). He quietly walked up to her but didn't say anything. He could tell that the girl was sad for the people who died here..

I hurl several blood spears at the shell, but do not make them strong enough to harm Edea, merely to pierce the shell and allow the cloud of taint to enter, thus strengthening Ultimecia.
