I follow him closely, feeling empty. I am beginning to realize that my sworn duty to protect him also includes those close to him. And that includes Misha and myself. I realize that risking my own saftey may injure him as much as allowing him to be attacked... All I know is that until I know that Misha is safe I will feel like this...

Poor young Dante. He was to good for Cassinda, and he'd always known it subconiously. Yuber would have to talk to Cassinda about this, just to make sure that there were no more of these stupid attempts. He walked regally down the hallway, all of those in the serving classes bowing, and those few higher than him nodded with mutual respect. He arrived at Cassinda's door and rapped three times with his knuckle. "Cassinda, this is Dr. Yuber, open the door now." He said. It was an order, not a question. He was after all a Sigil Sun, her being a Star Sun, meant that he could give orders. He would alsohave to speak with her about that rebellious streak. She couldn't be allowed to speak her mind to her betters, it was disrespectful as well as annoying. ((Knock, knock Cassinda and friend))

Bassarov finds a spare room at the base. Strangely, he has never stayed there before, but finds that the rooms are quite large.
He takes Zero into the room with him and sits on the bed.
"It is hard for me to be a good rebel leader when we always have to deal with such destruction. I think the last good thing I did was the concert, and that was last spring."

"That was before we met... When this is over we need to do... something..." I have an idea. "My birthday is on November 5th... Perhaps..."

"We should do something then. I hope by then we have entered a time of peace." He smiles slightly. "My birthday is actually February 14th...just for the record."

"I'll have to remember that... So I can get you something... Lubimi." I force myself to smile, but I don't feel happy.

Since Cass seems in a state of shock or something, Kasumi places the dagger beside her and makes a rather angery face at the rudeness of whoever Dr. Yuber was.. Of course, deep in her mind she knew who he was, but those memorys were blocked out due to the soul's absolute power over the body.
She opens the door and gives a sharp look to Yuber. "Cass is unable to talk with others right now, she needs some time alone so I can talk to her myself. Also, who are you? It's rude to commend something of someone, someone who happens to be in a state of depression."

Bassarov tries to think of what sort of gift he could get for Zero. She disserves something nice, since she has been his loyal friend and lover.
Bassarov sits back on the bed, leaning against the headboard.
"Zwei....I wish I could understand her. I wonder what her plan is....or what her weakness is. You know, Russia could have defeated Germany without the allies. I am sure of it." He says.
Sometimes he is very proud of being Russian. This was something that his grandparents told him.

I think for a second, and sit down beside Bassarov and remove my shoes. "You're probaly right... But the cost would have been over a third of their population at the time... And that's only if Stalin had listened to his generals..." I hope I haven't offended him with what I was taught. "I could almost understand Zwei... We are both tools meant to serve, but she decided she wanted power of her own... I have no such wish."

"Oh well I am just babbling. We make a big deal of it though. When couples get married the whole wedding party marches to a war memorial. I think it is absurd that we do it now after all this time. I thought it backwards. But it is good to remember. History's leftovers tend to come back to foul up the world." This could be applied both to the Stalinist Red Infinity and to the current situation with Zwei.

"I know much history... I was told that it is wise to know one's enemy. But now that you are my friend, it is even more important." I smile, but this time it isn't forced.

Yuber is not surprised that the body of one of his old expirements as shown up here, he'd seen much, much more surprising than that. "I, my dear failure, am Dr. Yuber of the great L.I.F., of which you are a part as well. And don't take that tone with me, failure, be quiet and speak when spoken to." He delivers it all in a calm and threating voice, raising a hand as if to slap her, but it was only to infesize the point. Without furth adue, he shoved the thing aside and walked into the room. He stood regally and looked down his nose at Cassinda. "I only have this to say, so listen well, 'Dove.'" He said that in a poisonous tone of voice. "You are not to lay even so much as a finger on young Dante, and you are not to interact with him in the least, not even a glance in his direction. Stop being so stubborn and stupid, and get over it. You are a member of the L.I.F., and thus you should not be as pathetic a wrech has I see before me now." He turned then, pivoting on his heel and stranding gloriously toward the door. He glanced at the failure again and addressed it in a tone of ice. "How about you go and doing something useful in lue of talking to this sad and pathetic wrench, eh? Maybe Peter has something constructive you could do." He then walked out the door, and strode away, a steletto hitting the door shut with it's flat side. ((And with that, goodnight.))

Bassarov smiles and puts his arm around her. "Yes, I wonder then if there is hope for all people. Evem Zwei. Emotions like love and compassion can transcend hatred and the ideas that we believe in. It happens all of the time."

I sit in my prison cell and feel really alone and forgotten.
"Gee, does the Green Party even care that I am here?"
I think of Swan and the others and feel mighty depressed.

((To Machiavelli))
"Machiavelli my dear dragon, I want to have a little fun. Toivio Koivisto is here and maybe it is time to turn him back into an old man." He jabs his dragon friend in the stomach and lets a hearty laugh.
"I think this would cause him the most suffering, don't you?"
