(Response to story mod: Zero knew and told Erika the name Vlad Tepes. Vlad Tepes=Vlad the Impaler who was the inspiration for Count Dracula. Tadah! Logical analysis at your service)

((Erika didn't know until Freak Boy told her, and Freak Boy wouldn't know about any of that.))

(What do you mean Freak Boy wouldn't know about Vlad Tepes? Who doesn't know about Vlad the Impaler?!
Freak Boy is an avid fan of history and I do think he would know. Besides, the word Tepes even stands for Impaler.)

A body washes ashore a small island off of the coast of Capital City. His blue hair stained crimson, his arms hang loosely off of his body, and his clothes are soaked, torn, and tattered.
Do not weep for this man, he had died a long time ago. He was a synthetic creature, created in a cylindrical tube, genetically engineered.
I do not weep, for I feel no sadness. I feel nothing. I feel... Empty.
Yes, emptiness. A black hole is inside of him. In a desperate attempt to protect those he loved, he did the only thing he felt possible to save them.
No. It was a selfish act. He couldn't atone for what he had done, and instead chose the easy way out. He knew that his life was trite and meaningless as soon as he was able to walk on his two feet. That is why he was so impressionable. He struggled to find purpose by constantly wavering between two extremes, only to find no identity for himself. A being who lives as a chamelion can never find meaning within empathy, for chamelions are, by nature, cold blooded. His death was symbolic, for he is now being reborn. His attempts to seal the black hole were in vain, for he simply has turned his soul inside out.
He is transforming. He is evolving.

I return to my room with an armload of clothing. I am in such a good mood lately, I am almost not myself. I open the door and step inside, saying, "I took your clothes and washed them, they were a bit grungy, and I even got out the ring around the coll..."
Where a captive rebel leader should be, instead there are empty chains.
"Bassarov? Valodya Bassarov? Come now, no need to hide..."
I realize I have been had. Somewhere out in the world there is an escaped, naked Bassarov.
... and he took one of my favorite blankets.
I toss the neatly folded clothes on the floor and kick at them.
"d**nit!"
Perhaps someone just found him and took him down to the dungeons. Maybe Illidan came back for his fruit and decided to torture Bassarov.
I rush out the door and down to the dungeons, in a foul mood. I dont' know what it is about that Rebel that gets to me. There is just something about him, but now he has been taken from my grasp... and it pisses me off.

I look at him. "So what was training like?"

"It was not so difficult, really. Most of it was training my mind and body to work in concert, and, of course, increasing my connection with the kami."

"Forgive me but what is Kami? Sorry i am not to familiar. I have not been around alot of people i have mainly kept to myself." He is cute when he talks.

"Oh, forgive me. The kami are... well... this."
I extend my hand, and several glowing balls of energy spiral outward and dance around upon my fingers.
"You cannot see their true form, but the kami are the spirits that dwell within the natural world. A spiritualist such as myself can not only see their true form, but can channel them and use them to perform many feats."

I glare at the pretty lights that the energy balls shined. "Aww thats pretty. It must be powerful."

"It depends. Usually I can only channel the smaller kami in the area, who are not very powerful by themselves. What makes them strong is their ability to band together for formidable attacks. In the presence of stronger kami, my spells are much stronger than in the presence of lesser kami."

"sounds intresting. I grew up trying to avoid people because i am a vampire. I have always valued humanity and never wanted to drink humans blood. That is just me i guess. I got into drawing at a young age and i could always tell what others thought of me or other things. But you for some reason i cannot read." I figured the truth would be better then a lie.

"You are a vampire? I didn't know that. Part of the reason I am difficult to read, I believe, is because I am of the spirit-touched."

"Yes i am vampire by nature. Sometimes i wish i wasnt. Because i have never been really accepted. I have never found companionship in anyone really. I thought i had a while back but come to relize he forgets people all to quick. So here i am agian on search for someone to share my feelings with i guess. Sorry if i am getting to mushy as people would call it. So what do you mean Spirit- touched?"

"A spirit-touched human has an intrinsic bond with the spirits. Legend has it distant past, one of my ancestors was a spirit from Meido who traveled back to earth on some kind of business."
