We approach the guards, and I shake one of their hands. I give him a little money so Lady Violet won't find out about our little excursion. We leave with no difficulty.
The snow is lightly falling, but the air is warm enough so's not to worry about bundling up. We begin to walk towards a park not too far from the Ministry.
"I hope you don't mind the snow... If you're cold, I can lend you my jacket. I'm used to the cold, since I'm a Taivalan. We were raised in Lapland, and the winters there were bitter."

"Aw, that's so sweet." Freak Boy said teasingly as he drew a paper from the hat. The word was, 'Bolshevism'
Hmmm... this was going to be harder than he anticipated. Freak Boy began drawing a picture of Lenin. It was sketchy and seemed like Jhonen Vasquez style artwork. When he finished, it was Lenin standing before a crowd with Trotsky. He circled the people in the crowd, or Bolsheviks, with a thick circle.

"Yeah yeah... I can't stay mad at you." I say, somewhat amused with Freakboy's art style, and am reminded of a 20th century comic book that I stumbled across called Johnny the Homicidal Maniac.

Iris declined the jacket. "I'm fine." Holding the now slightly stirring animal Iris stared upwards in the sky. "Snow?....It's so beautiful..." she smiled. "I guess I missed some of the finer points before I was brought back."

"Hmm, this one is tough..is it...Menshevik..um...Invader Zim?" Bassarov guesses.
"The Invader Mensheviks... Socialist Squee...?"
The time runs out once again, putting Bassarov's team behind the other by a couple of points.
"Drat, we aren't doing so well."

Freak Boy groans... apparently, his art style is a bit too similar to Jhonen's...
"Socialist Squee?" Freak Boy asked, scratching his head. "Was that even a word you put in the hat?"

I smile, somewhat somberly. The snow brings back old memories.
"Yes, the snow is quite beautiful... Once you've been away from it for so long, you start to miss it." I say, reflecting upon my life in Lapland. We reach the park, and begin to walk along a path that winds, and ends near a pond with pine trees.
"It's so peaceful. It's both lonely, and comforting, to be away from people. I miss being in Lapland..." He confides. "What have you seen of the outside world?"

I laugh.
"Actually, I was meaning to put that one into the hat... Valodya must have just read my mind."

They play a few more rounds of pictionary and Sephos' team wins by quite a few points. "Oh well, that was fun. I suppose I should focus on more serious things now. I am going to the base to see if I can find Alister Watanabe to help me rescue Sayuka. They were in the ISP together." Bassarov leaves suddenly to take care of business.

"What have I seen? Drama and ... pain." She stops and hugs the cat a little tighter, and realizing this eases her grip. "The people I saw. The seemed so innocent and then we were attacked. I dont remember a lot of it but when it was over. There was pain...he was in pain..." Stopping again she stares at the snow as she starts to shiver a bit, but it didn't bother her. "Then they fought among themselves and my mother...I still don't understand all of it. But the pain, and I tried to help him. That's when I was brought back." Looking up at Youki tears in her eyes she laughed it off. "Yeah right...." Freeing her one arm from the cat she wiped the tears away and recomposed herself. "So have you ever thought of returning to Lapland? Getting away from Red Infinity?"

Freak Boy nods to Bassarov as he leaves. He stands up and begins heading to the bathroom to replace his 3 day old bandages.
"Can one of you guys help me out? It's hard to bandage your hands with only a thumb and pinky." Freak Boy says, showing that he can only move his thumb and pinky, while the other fingers stay in place as if dead...
(gtg. be back later.)

"Yeah, sure, I'll help you out, meek-boy."
I follow him into the bathroom and dig through the drawers until I find some fresh bandages. His old bandages are all dirty and smell bad from being on so long.
"You know, you really should take better care of these wounds. You don't want them to become infected, people die that way."

I feel as though maybe I asked something a little too close, and feel somewhat guilty.
"Ah, well... I have a place here, at Red Infinity... And I like that. There's nothing else for me back in Lapland, since I lived a long time ago... I don't really have any say in the matter anyways, so it's not an issue with me." I say, as seriously as I can without giving away too much emotion.
"This life... This life is pain... You learn how to deal with it, and move on. That is the best advice anyone can ever give you." I say, noticing that she's shivering. I take off my jacket and put it over her shoulders.
"I know you insisted that you didn't need it, but you were shivering."

"Thanks Youki," she smiled. "Its nice to know that someone cares." Letting what he said sink in Iris put two peices of the huge puzzle together, that her and Youki were alike. Pulling the jacket closer and around herself and the cat. "I wonder. Because life is pain is that what happened to Red Infinity?" Catching herself speaking nonsense she stopped again and stared at the snow.

I try to imagine what Iris was talking about when she mentioned Red Infinity, and decide to take a guess.
"Sure, Red Infinity isn't perfect, but they try their best..." I say, not really sure what else to say. "Being within Red Infinity, I have had my differences, but I truly believe that they are trying their best to save us... It has at least helped me numb some of my pain. They are the very reason that I exist, so I should be thankful for that." I say somberly, as though I were on trial.
