Sakari smiles.
"A road trip sounds like fun, I would love to spread anarchy throughout America. Red Infinity has been spreading their wings, it's only logical that we do the same."

"Yeah, that would be fun. We can take whoever wants to come with us on the trip. We could buy some rusted out van and just drive across America."

"You can count me in. I'd go on your anarchist road trip. We could do a documentary on it...and maybe it would be a hit show...like Road Rules, but without rules."
I've been waiting for someone to notice that I was here, so I figured I would butt into the conversation.

Antero doesn't know what Road Rules is, so he just smiles and nods his head. He hadn't noticed that Nova returned. He wasn't sure what he thought of Nova. She seemed a little unusual and sometimes hostile.

"Perhaps we should call it "road" then. I don't know how well that would sell, but hey, we're not capitalists." I say, acknowledging Nova.
"Should we run it by the others tommorow? I know where we could find an old van, I have a friend that owes me a big favor."

"Aye. Their a bunch of pleasant fokes alright. Not much for modivation right now though. Not much for me to do around there right now except physical labor. I'm not much of a political mover."

"Yeah, we can run it by the others. Maybe we could even go to Las Vegas. I heard it's still around. I also heard that the American west is barely controlled at all by Red Infinity. It would be nice to just be...free for once. Free from pain. Free from Red Infinity. Free from all of it."

"I'm sure you can find a better niche with them than just physical labor."

"That sounds good. I'm feeling kind of hungry. I'm going to take a walk."
I know that bloodbanks are scarce around here. I might have to feed on a human again. Oh well, you do what you have to do.
I leave the anarchists and take a walk on the beach.

Antero watches Nova leaves and turns back to Sakari. Sakari has quickly become his only real friend. It is something new to him, having a friend rather than a lover.
"I miss Simona and Sasha. I know why people believe in that god stuff now. It helps you...when you loose someone...it helps you when you think you might see them again or that or that they are in a better place. The afterlife is not for the dead. It is a place for the living who have to deal with the loss." Antero rolls onto his back and is quiet for a moment. "I am not that weak. I don't need those weak beliefs to keep me going. But, I see where they are all coming from. Religion is for those who are too weak to face how bad this world can really be."

Sakari leans back against the couch, and likes this informality which has grown between himself and Antero. His mind isn't made up yet about religion or spirituality, but he does have this nagging sense that there's something else out there, more powerful than the gods on this earth. And that power is every man woman and child on this planet. They don't understand the power that they hold. They are the key to overthrowing Red Infinity and taking control of their own lives.
"It is said that God made us all in his image, whereas if you examine God, you begin to realize that he was sculpted by us, and not vice versa. God is a metaphor for us, for humanity and our many faces. Humans fear the unknown, and thus Gods are created. As soon as people begin to understand science better, their Gods begin to wither away, and die. Just as we do."
I sit up.
"Religion isn't a crutch, but rather, a stilt. Science is the notion that an object can stand on its own. Spirituality is a deeper understanding and respect for science. It's acknowledging that there are certain things that right now, we do not, and can not understand. And some day, when we do understand everything that we don't understand today, then spirituality will evolve accordingly."

Antero nods at what Sakaki said. He is not a spiritually minded person. Everything around him just is. There is nothing mystical or spiritual in this universe.
"A rock is just a rock. A tree is just a tree. You can think whatever you want about it. You can think it is something divine, mystical or beautiful. I just think it is what it is. If it is useful to you or society, then it is all the better. The problem with people is they are always looking to make more of everything. There is nothing in this world worth worshiping, since we are all equal yet individual."

"Worship is an extension of the notion that God created us in his image, that "He" is something so grand and perfect, that we will never be able to attain such status, thus we spin into this cycle of self deprication. People need to learn to have faith in themselves. Once they have faith in themselves, they will stop living in fear, and begin to realize that there is no saviour who will come and purify this planet of sin. Sin is something invented by the ruling classes to control us, to keep us living in guilt, and fear."
I smile slightly.
"It's funny... People cling onto the very institutions that taught them to be afraid, because they are afraid of change."
Sakari's tone changes back to his serious one.
"The notion that having sex is nothing but an exchange of fluids, or that having a spiritual awakening is a chemical reaction in your brain, doesn't belittle the experiences, but makes them more fascinating, and powerful. Once I became aware that there was no purpose in life, it made me cherish it even more. We are not limited by end goals placed in front of us, we don't walk in straight lines, fate doesn't exist. Life is what you make of it." I say, adding extra emphasis on the last few sentences.

"Are you some kind of existentialist?" Antero asks. He isn't familiar with existentialism, just that those who believe in existentialism believe that there is no god but respects the choice to believe in god, there is no truth, there is no human nature, there is no purpose, things simply are.
"If we want to be free, we need to become our own gods, but gods without reward or salvations. Gods of survival and self actualization."
