I decide to give the truth serum a few more minutes to work on Wagner. I teleport to Mischa's apartment, and I see that Bassarov looks very stressed. "What's wrong, not sleeping well?"

I immediately feel a well of guilt build up inside of me. I should have told her... I wrap my arms back around her, and pat her back.
"I'm sorry, Iris..." I say, subtly referring to the fact that I never told her. My eyes begin to water as well. It feels as though I have betrayed part of myself. We sit down on the bed.
The tears become impossible to hold back, and I reach up and quickly brush them away, in hopes that she didn't catch the fact that I was crying.

"Hello Mr. Bassarov. You don't have to pretend you know... it's bad for your health. 'This too shall pass...' I heard that somewhere, and I can't remember where. That happens a lot you know? Maybe it was a vision, or a dream, or an echo... sorry, I'm babbling again. I... I came for Helene's funeral. I mean, if she's having one. Do nymphs have funerals? I read somewhere that we just become the foam in the sea, although that might just be sea nymphs, or something..."

"That's a really good idea."
I pack up the things in my office and teleport home to my jacuzzi. I put on a swim suit and get into the hot tub.
"Aaah, this really does feel good."

Bassarov smiles. "Hello Zero, yes, I have had trouble sleeping. This is maybe a bad time to write about the revolution. It brings back old doubts and bad memories." He turns to face Andrew. "I don't know what the customs are for nymphs. It would be wise to ask Winter or another nymph with experience in these matters so that we give her a proper funeral and burial."

"I understand that I am more than capable of keeping an eye on him, and even restraining him if necessary. What he needs more than anything right now is a friend, not a boss." Sakari replies, finding it increasingly difficult to keep his criticisms of psychologists under wraps.
"What I don't understand is how you think this will help Antero."

I take his hand and gently squeeze it. "Then take a break from it. You're just gonna get yourself sick, and none of us want that." I turn to Andrew. "Helene was half vampire, those customs should probaly be honored too."

"Yeah, that would probably be a good idea. You know, this doesn't, well... I knew about this since last week, when I was with Elijah fighting Satsujin.... yeah, it's a really long story. I get death premonitions, and I can never do anything about them. You'd think it'd get easier, but it doesn't. It's very frustrating. I try to think about it as death being a part of life, but it's very hard for me... please don't hate me for not telling. I'm bound not to tell. It's this weird thing I have. I can warn people, but they still die in the exact same way, at the exact same time... and yet fate doesn't actually exist. Isn't that weird..?" Andrew mumbles.
"I still feel awful every single time."
Andrew changes the subject.
"Mr. Bassarov, have you ever been in love with an untouchable idea?"

"Vampires have customs?" I state, somewhat insensitively, thinking about Kaieka. I catch myself, and try to do damage control.
"I mean... Uh... Well, yeah, we should respect customs."

"I did work for a vampire for a long time, and though most of those customs are simply cultural there are some important ones. Especially that the body is buried in the earth or in a mosoleum. Never at sea." I state to Mischa, but not in a patronizing tone. After all very few people really know a lot about vampires.

"After the funeral I will take a short vacation. I haven't taken time off for a while. Anyway, with all the purges and recent Red Infinity violence, this is a good time to lay low."
Bassarov listens to Andrew and considers the question. "An untouchable ideal? Something beyond reach..."
He ponders it for a while.
"I don't think so. Everything I have ever wanted, hoped, or dreamed for, I have worked for until it was acheived, or, in some cases, continue to work for it. I don't know if I understand the question since aren't most things are obtainable with enough time or effort?"

Zinn notices the loaded statement. Her guard snaps shut, and she analyzes Sakari's face. Her stare is sharp, emotionless, and slightly unnerving.
"He doesn't need a friend or a boss, he needs a psychologist. None of us have the training to help him really get better. Talking and being nice will only get you so far. I've been down that road before with him Sakari. It is rather selfish of you to not want a psychologist on the trip, just because you don't like them."

Sakari feels like a jackass for not being able to control his emotions better.
"It's much deeper than that, Zinn. You of all people should understand that he doesn't take well to authority. I weep for what he put his parents through, but that's off the subject, you and him are on different levels psychologically. You understand that you need help, and need someone to talk to, Antero has had many fractured relationships in his life, and has issues trusting people, which is compounded with his natural hatred for authority." I say, in almost one breath.
Sakari takes a deep breath, and continues.
"In my visits with pscyhologists, nothing good has come out of them." I state, minimalizing things on a grandiose scale. "And that may be selfish, but it's rather inconsiderate and downright insulting to simply invite someone along for the ride who doesn't share our politics, to keep someone you don't trust on a leash so you don't have to deal with them." I say in a non accusatory tone, but getting a little defensive.
((I have to get going to work, and I don't want to hijack your character Zinn, so you can end this scene any way you like))
