"Yes, I feel fine. Just uneasy about the idea." Iris had yet to actually touch the plug in the back of her head. She was more afraid of it then anything else.

Herman nodded. "Iris, I vould like to show you somezhing. Please, follow me. Ve vill be back in a few moments, Erika."
Herman's hologram floated out into the hall, waiting for Iris to follow him.

As Herman leads her towards the room where he is physically, the lights get darker. Not darker as in they go off when they get there, but the lights in the room just weren't on at all.
They arrive shortly and the only light is the light from Herman's hologram and two yellow dots in the center of the room. The hologram dissapears and the yellow lights are all that is there.
"Vell, Iris, zhis is vhat I vanted to show you. You are a very fortunate young girl, your cyborg components are minimal. Your mozher and I vere not so lucky. Vone moment vhile I get zhe lights."
In a few seconds the lights go on, revealing Herman's head in a jar, connected to a pedastal. Wires run into his neck so that he may stay alive.
"Zhis is all zhat is left of my mortal body," he says to Iris, the tank he's in bubbling to pump some oxygen in for him.

I lost my body, Erika lost most of hers and her eyesight... You should consider yourself fortunate. It is far better to count your blessings zhen zhe zhings zhat you dislike. Thanks Elijah. I'm vegan because it ties into my socialist ideals. I believe humans are just complicated animals that are adapted to their environment in a different way than other animals. We aren't better or worse, just different. I feel the same way about angels and demons and nymphs and stuff too. Since we don't need to eat meat to survive, it hardly seems fair to take advantage of other animals. What right do we have? In many religions God supposedly told people that they had command over animals. I don't believe in God, so I don't see why we should go by some archaic privelege which was questionably given to us. We should be responsible and respect other animals because we can. During the industrial revolution, the bourgeoise often thought of the proletariat as nothing but animals... oh hey, I think I found a wisdom fish, Andrew says.
"Hi... Mr. or mz. wisdom fish, do you mind if we talk to you for a bit?" Andrew asks, his words bubbling up to the surface in large air bubbles. His words can still be heard clearly under the water though.

I nod my head and smile at Iris.
"Quite alright. I will be in my office if you need me. Have fun with your mother, Iris." I say, then walk up to my office.

(To Phillpe) As Xavier enters the rebel base with Leon, he calls Phillipe on his cell. He asks Phillipe to return to Helsinki for a while so they can work with the rebels there while trying to rebuild the French nationalist movement.
Once he and Leon are safely inside the rebel base he turns to the fellow rebel.
"My name is Xavier Jaures, I am a socialist as well as a member of the French nationalist group, La Resistance. I am glad that I found you. I just had this feeling that you might be a rebel, so I am glad I took the risk and asked."
"Well your guess was correct. I'm Leon Bonaparte, it is nice to met Mr. Jaures." Said Leon enthusiasticly while putting out his hand to shake Xavier's |
