Name: Lena
Age: Unknown (should be 17, but appears in her 20s)
Race: Ice Maiden/Angel
Gender: Female
Alignment: existentialist, environmentalist
Organization: Eternal Light (pacifists/religious)
Occupation: priestess (was training in her village to become the village priestess along with her sister, but never completed training. She wishes to finish her training through.)
Weapon: Kusari Gama, Ice Sword (looks like a Saber), Shortbow
Powers: Lena is able to turn water into ice by her touch. She can also call upon fire and ice, but if she does this it mixes together and goes out of control.
Weakness: Lena is allergic to milk, and can't eat anything with milk in it. She has a phobia of spiders since one of her childhood friends told her horrible stories about them, that weren't true, in order to scare her. She's also scared of water, because she was supposed to be drowned in it, and had almost once since she can't swim. Her sister had saved her through, but now she won't go anywhere near large bodies of water, only small bodies that she knows she can freeze.
Appearance: Lena has long light blonde hair, almost white, that covers her back. She usually keeps it tied to each side in sperate ponytails with black ribbons. The right ponytail has a black bow. Her eyes are an entrancing clear blueish/grayish color and her skin is a light peach color, looking almost pale like. She's thin and looks fragile, like glass, as if she could break into a million pieces if she fell. Due to this, most assume she's very weak. She also always wears black.

Personality: Lena is a quiet girl. One would think she was shy and timid if they didn't know her that well. She doesn't like to talk to strangers, but if she thinks someone needs help, she'll stand up for them and help them whatever the problem may be. She always tends to help anyone around her in need, whatever the problem may be. She doesn't like to fight much, but will if she's provoked or if it's for someone else. She'd do just about anything to help someone. One would use the expression 'heart of gold' for her.
Through Lena's not a good morning person, and doesn't like to be woken up. She's kind of cranky on most mornings when she doesn't wake up by herself. Lena wants to see an angel through, since she's heard many stories about them and has never seen a full one before. In fact, she's never seen another race besides Ice Maidens.
Story:
Lana is Lena's sister, they are fraternal twins. Their village was located in The Ice Lands. The Ice Lands are a piece of land covered in ice and snow, located in the demon realm. This piece of land was blocked off from the outside world, since the weather was so harsh and cold only people native to the land could live there. Lana and Lena's mother's village had a strange religion. When a child was born, if they were both girls and if they were born at the same day, they believed it was a sign from their goddess. Their goddess was a female ice maiden who had survived living in the woods for 50 days all alone as a punishment for denying the village leader.
When she returned, it is said they could sense she was different. Like she had been 'blessed' by something. The village had been poor for a long time and low on everything and on the edge of death, but when she returned food suddenly started turning up and they weren't poor anymore. They all took it as a sign and proclaimed the woman their god(dess), their goddess who had blessed them all with life when they had sent her to death. She wasn't really a god(dess) through. Men in their ice maiden race (in the village) where believed to be a bad sign.
It was rare for twins to be born. Their goddess had been born in the same day as her sister, and so when twins were born like that, they were to be 'blessed' by an elemental spirit. The twins were to be the village priestesses when they were fully trained, and whenever they needed a new priestess, a pair of twins were born. Whatever the first got, the second would get the opposite. Lana and Lena are the most recent pair of twins. Actually, the first twins in over 50 years. Their mother had been from the village for a few weeks and had mated with an angel. When she returned, she was yelled at for defying their laws, But when the twins were born, they took it as a sign that they should not be so cruel and allow boys to be born also.
Their village believed women were higher then men since boys were never born except once every 20 years or so (This is actually because some women were ashamed to have a male child, and so either left them in the woods or drowned them). When they didn't need a boy and if the mother has yet to do it herself, the child would be drowned. Their mother requested Lana have the water spirit 'bless' her, since Lana was her 'favorite' for some reason, she did not seem to like Lena at all. The reason was because she looked exactly like her father, but that is only part of the reason. Elbereth seemed to favor Lena, since she would always spend time with her as a baby and child. Sometimes, Lena's hair turned black as a raven's feather (will be explained why awhile after they are away from The Ice Lands and meet Elbereth again).
When the children were four, they were to be blessed on their birthdays. The villagers would all leave the children in the cave with their priestesses, who would cast spells on them and then pray for the element. The priestesses were old, but could perform the duty. If the girls, at 16, had limited control over the element, they were blessed. If not. they were drowned, taking it as a sign that the child had been cursed. No other child had ever been blessed with fire, for most knew what may happen is a child was blessed with fire. For over 100 years since their goddess had been named, no one has ever denied these laws. Lena and Lana would be the first to do this and last, along with the last people to believe in their village's religion. On their 16th birthday, they were to show off their control over their element. At sunset, they would gather at the middle of town and the two girls would stand on a platform. Lana was first to go. She waved the water around her hands. It wasn't much, but she was able to have limited control over it. She was also connected with water.
Lena through.. An ice maiden and fire is a deadly mix of powers. Ice and fire do not go together, and should not.. She knew this, and had told her sister of how she knew this. She also thought some of their laws were wrong, and didn't like their religion all that much. Lana urged Lena to keep quiet and tried very hard to help her with her powers, but if she tried to control fire it would burst out uncontrolled with her ice powers. There was a huge risk of setting the village on fire and killing many people. As Lena stood slightly in front of her sister to the side, all the villager's eyes eagerly on her, she could not risk it.. She may not agree with their religion and not like many of the villagers, but she loved some of them and killing, even at a risk, was wrong. She bowed her head, and the words that would lead to her drowning left her mouth. 'I am unable to..'
Lena and Lana were close, some said as a joke they should be glued to the hip. It is this love, that is why Lena is not dead. The villagers were to drown Lena at sunrise the next day, but at midnight that night Lana woke her up. She told her sister they were leaving, leaving to the outside world. A world strange to them. They had heard stories of the outside world from their mother, one of the few to ever leave the village, of what it's like.. They quickly packed up and left the village to go to the outside world, for whatever horrible stories they may have heard of it, there were also beautiful ones. They would risk anything in order to stay together through. It is very lucky they left that day too, for they both would be dead if they had not. For the next day, that was the day people came to their village and took everyone in order to abuse them for their tears which turn into crystals. The whole village is dead now except for their aunt, Elbereth.
Lena and Lana will seek out to join the Eternal Light when they reach town. They agreed to join that organization because Lena likes to help people so much, and Lana still believes in their village's religion and goddess and also is a pacifist. Lena likes to help people since she doesn't want anyone to feel bad like she did when her mother didn't like her. It hurt her a lot that her mother didn't like her. Lena's political beliefs are that she thinks religion should be allowed, since she thinks each person should be allowed to believe in what they want to believe in. Her goal in life is to try to make this so, and also make those around her happy and help them with their problems. Their mother told them about Red Infinity, and they did not like some of what they heard. They heard of how people were imprisoned and tortured just for sharing their views if they were a rebel, and how many humans starved. They also have a living aunt on their angel blood, but they're not sure who this is.
