Mortis:
"I want you to be happy. You never seem very happy. What you need is some friends. This place sure is lonely, you know," Mortis says as he gathers Surma's art supplies and brings them to his master.
"Death is not such a sad thing, Surma. I find that life is much sader. In death there is peace and equality. That does not exist in life," Mortis says as he sets up Surma's easle.

Mortis:
"Your mother and father took care of you, and your brother Keitoleinen played with you often. The two of you would go to the River Tounela (Finnish Version of River Stix) and watch the new souls enter this world. You would chase Lintokotoleinen's birds and go for walks in the vast birchwood forests of Tounela. You were not alone back then. Later, when your sister was older, you would go to Taivas( heaven) and pick flowers for her. You always had your family. "

Mortis:
"Master, my life is to serve you. I would give my life to protect you. I do everything in my power to make sure that you are taken care of. You are the world to me, Lord Surma," Mortis says as he unfolds his broad black and gray wings.

Finally as myself:
Bassarov sits in his dank, musty cell at the Ministry of Terror conteplating his so called crimes against the government. His face is swollen from the numerous beatings at the hands of his torturers. His stomach is empty as well. He can't remember the last time he was fed, or if he was fed. When he finally falls asleep, he is quickly awoken by guards and taken for interogation, where he sits under s bright light for hours, answering pointless questions. If there is a hell, Bassarov imagines it must be something like this.

I rode for a few hours until my bike ran out of fuel. It was then that I found myself alone in the middle of the widlerness. The night was very dark, and in the distance, toward Helsinki, I could see a pink hue in the horrizon. It was as if the city was illuminated by some celestial light. I sat on a stump and tried to plot a course of action. Tokyo is a long ways away, especially when you are alone and hunted. An owl hooted in the tree above me. It gave me an eerie feeling. In some cultures, an owl is an omen of death.

after i left the city, i turned into a bear (i'm an ursarian right). just after i left, i saw the city explode. it was horrfying. it must have been some sort of nightmare or illusion. anyway, i used my enhanced bear senses...or in other words i followed my nose....to try to locate Hope. this would have been hard, but she was wearing perfume, so i easily tracked her scent. so i ran in my giant bear form for a few hours. then, by nighfall, i finally caught up to her.
in my bear form:
"hope, i'm so glad that i found you! you had me so worried. i heard about your father, and I'm sorry that about what happened!"

"Eek! A giant talking bear!" I scream as I grab a stick and bravely start beating it.
