The Drug of the Masses

[Peter "The Owl"]

Peter walks into the emergancy room with Chastity in his arms. He is quickly noticed and a nurse rushes him towards the emergany ward.

As he rushes through the hospital he looks to the side. Kaieka and Bassarov are in a smaller room off to the side.

She looks up and for a moment there eyes lock before Peter is rushes past the room, deeper into the hospital.

Suzumi threaded her way through the crowd that had milled in the streets. She glanced all around, looking for Riku, but saw no sign of him. The crowd jostled her, and managed to wriggle out of it, but in completely different surroundings. She stood there, lost, and contemplated what to do. 'He's probably found the others already, and they can use that compass if they need to find me. I guess I'll have a little time to myself for now.' She spotted a ladder on the side of a building, and began climbing up to the roof.

[Genovia]

-Hours pass, Fate does not return. I feel my internal wounds from the Calithan fight. Inside, I am bleeding. I lay against the water heater and fall asleep.

[Maeve]

Maeve throws her black cloak over her shoulders. Kaschei gave her a mission. The mission is to find a demon slayer named Mikomi. He is a threat to Red Infinity security and must be dealt with. He terrorizes villages and slays any demon that crosses his path.
Maeve puts her hands to her forehead, and recieves a premonition concerning his whereabouts. She leaves at once.

[Dinari Dollar]

"You were great on the course. A real natural. You must have gone golfing before."
We sit together in my mansion, looking out at Capital City through my enormous wall sized window.
"You seem better, when are you heading back to Red Infinity?"

[Arlee]

"The Druidians say that Red Infinity is attacking their communes. They worry that Red Infinity will find them and send someone here. I am worried Diagh."

"We are deep in the forest. I doubt Red Infinity cares."

"I don't understand politics anyway. Back home, the high priestess rules.

"I find politics and religion to be nearly the same thing."

"We should start training so we can become stronger. We need to protect the Druidians!"

"I will not fight. If I wanted to fight, I would have stayed on our home world and fought in the light elven army when they conscripted me. Instead I came here. I will never fight."

"You wouldn't even fight to save me, bro!"

"I told you before. I am a scientist, not a fighter."

I become a little sad. My own brother wouldn't fight to protect me! But he did mention why we left home. He never talks about that.

[Jezma Bon Li]

"I will return to Red Infinity soon. But before I go, I have some questions for you. I want to know how you can live like this...with riches and wealth, when so many others go without. Don't you have any compassion at all?"

[Dinari Dollar]

"Don't start with that compassion crap, I don't want to hear it. My great great great grand dad came to America, a dirt poor man. He worked hard and had ideas and he built this corporation with his own sweat and ingenuity. He went from rags to riches, following the American dream."
I pour myself a drink and continue the story.
"If he could do it, what stops those other poor people? They're just lazy or unmotivated. I can live in luxury. My family earned that right long ago."

[Jezma Bon Li]

"Capitalist Pig. Capitalism ruined the world. Brought global war. Reduced 90% of the world's population to impoverished servants of American greed. How dare you say that you disserve that money! Your cars, this house, your fancy clothes, they are wastes of money that could be used to feed the people. I can't stand you! Why has Red Infinity allowed you to live. They should make you suffer like Capitalism has made the world suffer!"

[Dinari Dollar]

"This is why I only date super models. They never complain or argue. I pity you....You poor thing. Red Infinity has brainwashed you. Human nature is selfish. No body wants to care for others. Thats why Red Infinity is hated. It expects too much of people."
I look out at the statue of liberty.
"Capitalism lets people be who they are...greedy b-astards who want to get ahead. Communism shackles everyone to conformity. But people don't want to have the same as everyone else. I am realistic here, aren't I?"

[Jezma Bon Li]

"There is no use talking to you. You'll say anything to justify your greed. I think I am going back to Red Infinity. Good Bye, Dinari Dollar."
I walk out the door, out of the mansion, through the gates, and into the crowded streets of Capital City. I will take a plane to Red Infinity and report back to duty at the Ministry of Terror.

[Lightmer Witmer]

It is his lunch break, so Lightmer Witmer eats a bologne sandwhich. He slathers it in fancy French Mustard and enjoys it. He also drinks a carton of Whole Milk and munches green pepper slices as a snack.
"I wonder how Bassarov is. It is not right to overmedicate a patient, but in the end, I think Red Infinity will be satisfied." Lightmer thinks to himself as he sticks another green pepper in his mouth.

[Dinari Dollar]

She left? No one ever leaves! I've broken my record.... No..this can not be."
I watch her disappear into the crowds outside my gated mansion. I relax a bit.
"She'll be back."
I decide to call Mark and check up on him. I tell him that Jezma is headed back and to keep an eye on her. Don't want her to tell too many of my secrets. I call up one of my girlfriends and invite her over.

[Kaieka]

I look up from Bassarov at the hallway beyond. NO! I see Peter there, he is looking at me. He doesn't say anything, he just looks and then walks on. He is carrying some girl. Another one of his victims, no doubt. Why does he wish to kill us? We have done nothing to him. I look back at Bassarov, lying there doped up and sleeping. Why now? Why do you have do be a drug addict now? We need to get out of here, Right Away.

[Kith]

I pass through the dark doors of the Minsitry of Terror. Kaschei will pay for what he has done. I go inside and see that Genovia is nowhere to be found. I search the entire building. At last I find her in the basement, sleeping behind a water heater. She is wounded. I use my powers to heal her, but she remains asleep. I carry her upstairs to her quarters here. I wonder why Riku kept asking about her. We are not going out. She is only a person I am training. She would never be interested in me. No one is. I learned that from my experiences with Violet.
I place her gently on her bed and leave the room.
I walk up to Kaschei's office.
His time as Minister of Terror is about to end.
