Kaschei spends the afternoon reading his spellsbooks and trying not tho think about his encounter with Jareth. He finds it hard to concentrate as his mind is bombarded with doubt and regret. When he can no longer concentrate of his work, he decides to take a nap, since rest will surely clear his head.

It takes a few days, but finally Hayven and Yoko return to the Ministry of Science. Hayven reports to the department of botany there. His mission remains the same: to find the lost Island of Hana, home of the fairies. There are no more clues concerning its whereabouts, thus he is no closer to finding it than he was before. "I wish we had some clue. There must be another fairy somewhere who knows where the Isle could be."

"Well, that was interesting. From what I remember, it was Kith who arranged to have you brought here. Have you seen or heard from him since? It is strange that a Ministry of Terror operative like him would protect you like that."

I get a bit more secluded and say. "...no I have not heard from Kith..."

Bassarov does not press the issue any further since it seems to be a sore spot.
"In any case, I purchased a building for the new commune. Dinari Dollar gave us an amazing contribution. As much as I hate Capitalists and CEOs, it was very helpful."

"Yes, well..it was certainly worthwhile. His generosity was a surprise." Bassarov sees that Mischa is getting bored with the conversation.
"Mischa, would you like to see the book I am writing?" Bassarov excuses himself from the others and takes him to his room, where on a desk is a computer and some loose pages of notes.

"Alright..." I began to walk away to a secluded corner of the room and on my way I heard bits and pieces of conversations.

Bassarov leaves Mischa to read his book. He reenters the living room and has another cup of coffee. He sits on the couch and feels a little uncomfortable.
Bassarov has a lot on his mind. He thinks of Kaieka. He thinks of telling his friends his secret. He is not sure how to handle this new and unusual situation.
So he sits there drinking his coffee and thinking.
