Alright, I know I'm new to RI. And I know I'm not the most experienced with character generation, etc. But let's skip that before you start cursing at me for being an idiot.
Now... When I created my Android character (Archetype 401), I was getting many complaints/tips to change my weapons, because they sounded more like powers.
Looking back on this when I first started, it didn't make much sense to me. Androids come with built in weapons and such, or so I thought. What would be the point to making robots if they were corved to weild conventional weapons like everyone else?
As we all know, certain races/factions get extra powers. I think that Androids should be one of them.
It would make more sense if an Android had more powers because they are "expected" to. If they didn't have any extra powers, it would be pointless. It's like, Joe the Android walks into a bar and says ,"Ouch."
No, kidding. It's like Joe the Android walks into a bar and the bartender asks him, "So, what kind of Android are you?" And Joe says, "A lame kind."
"Why?" The bartender asks.
"Because I have no special abilities." Joe the Android replies.
What I'm trying to say is... Androids should get bonus powers because they are EXPECTED to have gadgets and such worked into them. Gah. I'm not explaining this very well at all... but do you know what I mean?

Yes... and no.
Androids, for the most part, act human-like. But I guess since we dont have a surge or decline of them, the Admin have never uped or downed the number of required powers.
And your right, you didnt explain it well.

Nobody has anything extra, except for the dragons. Since they are dragons, they naturally have big teeth ans spikes.
Androids start off just like everyone else. Sorry.

Android weapon systems can be sufficiently duplicated with the power system, and thus there is no real need to give them any "inherent" abilities, especially with the fact that android construction can vary. Normal android weaponry would be blades and basic firearms built in, which is perfectly acceptable.

Ah, so Androids CAN have weapons built in. They told me I couldn't. So I could have pistols built into his hands or something?

they didnt say you couldnt, its just the size and the amount of the kinds of weapons you would have had.... you would need a place to store it, plus the firing mechanicisms,...
plus, your a robot, not an andriod..androids are artificial humans woh look and most of the time act like humans.... from what I saw from your profile, you dont look like a human, you look like a robot...

Riku is correct, robotic characters may have weapons like any other character, but they cannot exceed the strength of a regular automatic firearm. Blades are also acceptable, so long as you have a place in which you can store them. Anything beyond automatic firearms constitutes a power as it is far stronger than normal.

I forgot something. Energy weapons such as lasers and energy blades are acceptable as base weapons, unless such a ruling has been changed since then.

Woooo.... pretty.
What about this "Weakness" bit?
It says all people must have two weaknesses. I've looked over a few people's "Joining" posts and only seen about 5 (out of what...? 30 something pages) that have their weaknesses listed.

That was a new addition to the join forms, which is why most characters do not have weaknesses listed. That is also why I pmed everyone to update their join forms,

Ah, okay. And I started a thread about Weaknesses (not the lack-there-of) on "Weaknesses? Where?"
