Despair walks with Erika back to Violets office. He follows behind her, entering slowly. He bows his head as he enters. He sees that Violet is busy talking to another operative, but he interupts her anyway. Lately, he has been less tolerant of Red Infinity.
"Lady Violet, forgive my intrusion but I have decided that I will not be used for this project or by LIF. You will have to find another android for LIF and another father for the operator."

"Murgheal, you may leave now."
After the dragon leaves I get up from my desk and walk over to Erika and Despair.
"Do not despair, I will tell Noe that he will have to find another android."
I then turn to Erika and place a hand on her shoulder.
"I found someone who will be the father of the operator. This person has good genetics and is usually very kind. You have nothing to worry about."
I look at Despair.
"Despair, it is time for you to leave. I have private things to discuss with Erika about the project. Go now." I order him sternly.

"FATHER? WHAT? WHO ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT? YOU CAN'T DO THIS!" Despair shouts at Lady Violet. He is shocked that she found someone so soon. No, he can't allow any of this. It is all an outrage.

"This is out of your control now, Despair. Good bye." I hit the android with a mental blast which sends him against the door. I open the door for him with my mind and once he is out of my office, I lock the door so no one else can enter.
"Take a seat Erika, there is no reason to be uncomfortable. I will tell you in a moment, once I am sure that no one can hear our conversation."
I sit back down at my desk and pause, listening carefully for anyone who may be listening in.
"The father is someone who I know well and trust....I suppose that we would have to go to my home in order to do things properly."

"Oh well," Noe pats Despair on the shoulder and sighs, "Next time then, next time." The LIF Director walks around Violet's desk and looks at her, his head tilted slightly, "I suppose you won't be needing us for the rest of the process? Oh well. Would have been most interesting."

Despair struggles with the lock and pounds on the door. He curses under his breath and finally gives up. He walks back to his room in defeat. There, he sits on his bed and thinks about Erika and this devious plot that Violet has in store for the woman that he loves. He waits there for Erika to return and tell him the bad news.

When Despair is thrown back my hand grabs my Luger and holds it tightly, but makes no move to draw... I know that I am no longer in control of anything, not even my own life. "I.... will do... what you demand, fraulien."

Noe nods and sighs again, "Of course." Noe walks away from Violet and stops besides Erika. "Oh, Erika, just one thing. Remember that no matter what happens..." He fades out before he finishes.

"Let's go to my home then. We can talk about things more privately there. I don't believe that Trotsky, Set, or the others will be there." I say as I put on my long coat with the Red Infinity emblem on it.
"I will teleport you there."
I walk over to Erika and place my hand on her shoulder. In an instant, we are teleported to my home.
"Would you like some tea or coffee?"
