"Yes, she is..." I say. I don't sit down, as I am highly uncomfortable around this woman anymore. I know why she did what she did, but because of the way she did it I am convinced that she used me for pleasure...

"Oh dear, it slipped my mind that Dr. Murdock wanted to meet with me."
I call one of my secretaries to inform Dr. Murdock that if she wants to meet with me, she can stop by my home or meet me sometime tomorrow.
I read Erika's thoughts and frown. It is possible that power is going to my head, but I would like to think that I still have a moral compass.
"She can have a few more days before someone takes her to the Ministry of Science for augmentations."
I hear yet another knock at the door. I go to see who it is and am glad that Dr. Murdock knew to come here.
I go to the door and let her into my home.
"Hello Dr. Murdock. I have been putting in such long hours I left early today. I am glad that you found me though. Come inside."

"It sounds like it might've nice to grow up in this world. We weren't schooled at all in my village, but my mother brought back books and things from her trips and she taught us how to read and write. I still can't read very well or write good through, but me and my sister were a lot better then anyone else in the village. We'd even be able to confuse some of the adults." Lena smiles, seeming to have not noticed Peter had forced the last part. She understood there were some things you didn't want other people to know.
"I remember when we'd take turns doing that. Oh, it was a blast. Come to think of it, we got in trouble a lot more times then any of our friends. I remember the day before my 16th birthday.." She then stops, her smile disappearing. She had been so down that day, her sister had tired many funny things to get her to feel better..
"Well, I'm just rambling! Sorry." She says, forcing another smile. She wasn't really ready to tell anyone about her past yet, with the troubling parts still so fresh and recent in her mind..

A secretary materializes next to Dr. Murdock, and informs her of the message.
"I understand that Lady Violet needs some time to herself. I was just wondering if I could have the opportunity to meet the new operator of Little Sister. I haven't met her yet, and since my ministry will be in charge of sifting through Little Sister's data, I think it is rather important. I like to have good working relationships with all of my employees. It increases effiency. I do not have to see her personally. I just need her permission, and the location of... Iris, is it?"

"I understand. I would like her to meet Mitya before she goes in. After she is part of the System, will I still be allowed to visit her?" I ask hopefully, my fears temporarially forgotten.

(I will go ahead that you teleported to my home)
"Iris is in Moscow at a hospital. She will be turned over to the Ministry of Science for cybornetic enhancements before she is brought to the Ministry of Information to operate Little Sister." I say to Dr. Murdock.
"As long as you remain loyal to Red Infinity, there is no reason why you can not see her from time to time Erika. I would like to pay Iris a visit myself, but doubt I will have the time."

Peter nods and smiles. "I'd be happy to help you learn to read better. You know," he says, shuffling the cards again, "You probably shouldn't stay with Bassarov. I'm living at an old farm in Lapland, Finland, right now and we have plenty of extra room.
You could get have a room to yourself there if you like. Hope and I are training up there, or were before she ran off. When we find your sister she can stay there too if she likes. It would be nice to have some other people around the place."
Peter sets down the cards, shifting slightly. Something clatters under his shirt and he frowns. Reaching under the collar of his shirt Peter takes a series of necklaces off, setting them on the table. "Everything's shifted... I shouldn't have slept with them all on." Three different types of crosses, two penticales, and a crystal necklace sit on the table. Apparently, Peter has been wearing them all along.
"Anyway," he says, straightening up the necklaces, "I would like to help teach you more reading. I personally believe that the ability to read is one of the most important things anyone can know."

((I'm outside, so telepathy then.))
Thank you Lady Violet.
Dr. Murdock teleports again, arriving in the hallway of the hospital, right outside Iris's room.

Post by Huey P. Newton on Dec 24, 2004 2:10:06 GMT -5
Huey walked at a brisk pace down the halls in Beijing. He needed to get to Stalin and fast.
I knew I should have checked my mail more often. Huey thought to himself, wanting to smack his head. He had read up on the Little Sister project and realized that with it in operation, not onl would the rebels plans be wiped out, but he and Stalin's plans to... ascend to power... well, they'd be discovered and then Huey and Stalin woudl both be executed. In other words, it is in the best interests of Huey and Stalin to team up with the Rebels and try and make sure that this Little Sister Project did NOT go off without a hitch. It would be best for an unfortunate accident to happen to the machine or, if all else failed, the operator... politics.... a messy business.
Huey didn't bother to knock as he walked into Stalin's office.
"We got a problem." Huey said. He would explain on the plane ride, but for now he just needed to get Stalin moving. He grabbed Stalin by the arm and led him to the jet which they would fly to Helsinki under the guise of researching rebel movement. He could only hope that with the report on hand that he, Stalin or Bassarov could come up with a plan...

"I did what I did because it needed to be done for the good of Red Infinity. I do not wish to have any part of her life at all, other than the Secretary General of the Party she happens to work for."
I sit down and sip my tea.
"I think you misunderstand that."

Stalin would, under normal circumstances, object to being pulled and forced into a plane. However, upon hearing Huey's concerns and the threat that Little Sister posed to his power mad schemes, Stalin turned a bit more pale than usual.
"We can't allow that to happen. We don't have much time, if your report is correct. We'll be executed!" Stalin said, half to himself.

I am tempted to say 'Good!' right to her face, but that would be unspeakably rude. "I'm sorry, I understand now. I did bring a couple of pictures of her, but that's all..."

"And that's exactly why we need to team up with the Rebels. Little Sister poses as much of a threat to them as it does to us. We have access to the information--they have he weapons and the means to help us. Besides, if we tried to do anything on our own we'd be executed. They don't have to worry about losing their jobs." Huey said, leaning back in his chair.
The plane touched down in Helsinki and Huey led Stalin to the Rebel Base, hoping to find Bassarov. If not Bassarov then the rebels Bassarov told him about; Mischa and/or Zero.
