Kolya sits next to Dan and I stuff the letter into my back pocket.
I get up and dim the lights then put the movie going.
"Let me get us all something to drink."
I go into the kitchen and when no one is looking I read the letter. The letter is from a Korbinian Kautsky. It is asking Daniel to join a rebel movement. I will have to tell Red Infinity about this. Reporting rebel threats is my job. I send a quick email to the Ministry of Information.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Attn Ministry of Information: A KORBINIAN KAUTKSY IS CONTACTING STUDENTS AT MY SCHOOL. WHO IS THIS MAN?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
After sending the email I return to the living room with special homemade punch for everyone.

"Good, good." The wanzer begins walking. The ground under Noe and Violet's feet shakes slightly as it does. "You should take some time off, lady Violet. A vacation would do you good."

Dan settles himself on the couch and pats Kolya on the head when the child hops up next to him. "I think you'll like this, kid. This is one of my favorite movies." He thakes Fen for the punch, which is rather good, and gets a small handful of chex mix. With that, he settles back to enjoy the film.
((Got to go to class. Be back in about two hours.))

"Perhaps you are right, but I have already been neglecting my duties lately. I am not working as hard as I used to. It is possible that I am a little burnt out."

When I sit down, Kolya moves onto my lap. I smile and watch the movie.
It is entertaining, I like the songs.

I watch the impressive demonstration of the wanzer, but, I know that I may be needed at the office.
"Thanks again for the demonstration. It is an impressive machine. Good luck to you."
I say goodbye to Noe, then teleport back to my office. I feel burnt out from work, but vacation is not an option right now.

"Kaschei, do what you will to me. I will not translate the spells. You are an evil man and I know better than to help you." I reply to the sorcerer deffiantly. I am actually pretty nervous but try not to show it.

Once I get my office all nice and set up, I decide to take a tour of Helsinki. I want to see what kind of place it is that I moved to.
I think I will start inspecting all the area schools, starting with Helsinki then moving out into the country. This way I can see what people need.
I spend the day touring Helsinki's schools, and find that they are better than the ones in Russia and some other places. I wonder why that is? Every school gets the same amount of money per student.
That's really strange. I also get a tip that there are rebels who may be students and teachers in the area. I can't have that!

Post by Korbinian Kautsky on Jan 4, 2005 20:25:16 GMT -5
Kautsky is displeased when his crow reports that the letter never made it to Daniel Stinin. Instead, a fellow student intercepted it. He decides that he will try again, no matter the risks involved. He needs to build the movement and will not be daunted by this. He sends another letter to Daniel Stinin, it is the same as the first one.
Dear Daniel, A little birdie told me that you were a socialist so I decided to contact you. My name is Korbinian Kautsky, leader of the second International or as you might call it...the democratic socialist movement. I was wondering if you would be interested in joining us since we need new members. A bright young boy like you would be an excellent addition to our group. Think it over, and if you have any questions about me or the democratic socialist movement, please write them down. I have my ways of getting them. -Sincerly, Korbinian Kautsky

Pierre became worried when the anarchists stopped returning his emails. He thought that maybe this Wyrm didn't like him for some reason or another. This worry prevented him from sending any more emails after one or two went unanswered. He had even considered going to Amsterdam to meet the anarchists, but now decided against it. La Resistance seemed dead as well. The Bloodspeakers managed to attack the French nationalist movement enough that it was beaten down into near invisibility. Frustrated with the political events around him, he decides to send one last email to Wyrm. Dear Wyrm, I noticed that you have not been returning my emails. This is making me worry a little. I hope I didn't do anything to offend you. Worse, I hope that nothing bad has happened to you or your group. Things in France are very slow. La Resistance is almost beaten into nothing now. I would like to join your group if the opportunity ever presents itself

Xavier returns to Paris and starts looking for Phillipe. He drops by Phillipe's apartment and waits. While he was in Serbia, the Bloodspeakers attacked La Resistance, further thinning their ranks. It appeared now that he might have to leave France and get involved with the second international instead. He contacts Kautsky by letter.
"To Kautsky, I want to join your group. I was thinking that Stockholm or Paris might be good places for our political base. Tell me what you think."

Elijah spends time at the base, but worries about the FRA. It was wrong of Riku, Ludda, and Freakboy to attack them earlier this past week. He finds that he has some sympathies with the FRA. He was born in America and isn't against their independance movement. He is even starting to think that maybe capitalism isn't as bad as Bassarov paints it out to be. Sweden and other northern European countries were democratic socialist and were very peaceful and equitable.

"Have it your way then. There are plenty of others who I can get to translate the spell. You will do little to twart me." Kaschei closes his eyes in frustration and begins to chant a spell. As he chants, Toivo begins to age. His green hair becomes long and white, some falling out completely. His skin becomes dry and wrinkled. After a few minutes, Toivo stands before the sorcerer as the old man he was a few months ago.
