"Technology can help people, but has made the world too complex. Anyway, there are more birth defects today than in the past because our natural world is saturated with pollution. For every disease a person suffers, I believe there is a cure in the natural world."

Post by Freak Boy on Jan 26, 2005 17:43:21 GMT -5
The alarm in the spare room that Freak Boy was staying in went off. Since he hadn't slept yet, he just turned it off. Freak Boy hated sleep - despised it with every fiber in his being. He was in bed and had the covers over him, so he figured that was good enough to be considered bedrest. He sat up and looked out the window seeing Zinn about two blocks from the apartment. He sighed. This would not be good if he was supposed to be avoiding stress. Whenever he runs into Zinn, they seem to get into an argument about something.
Before he could think any more and try to speculate about what today's argument would be, his stomach growled. He got out of bed, showered and dressed before heading into the main area of the apartment, tucking a necklace he wore under his shirt.
"Mornin', Bassarov. What's for breakfast?"

"I waver between socialism and anarcho syndicalism. I have a hard time deciding what I am. I have nothing against technology. I think that if technology is in the hands of the working people it can be used to benefit everyone."
I decide to try a grape soda myself. I am not for grape or even soda. I prefer the taste of warm blood. I feel immature for drinking the soda pop.

BB snorts.
"Oh yes, I suppose I could have had two peg legs and an aorta made out of bark. Complication isn't always a bad thing, and simplicity is definitely not always good."

"I was just saying that a lot of health problems come from our rotten environment. Technology has seperated us from the natural world. The stress of modern living leaves people creatively, emtionally, and mentally imbalanced. I just think people would be happier if they went back to nature." I make a frowny face. Since you both disagree with me, can we talk about something else?

Zinn arrives at Bassarov's apartment and knocks.

"I'm enjoying the conversation. I'm an anarchist most of the time as well. I don't reject technology, but I think it is interesting that you do."

"I'll get that." Freak Boy says, since Bassarov seems to be busy cooking breakfast. He opens the door and sees the familiar face of Zinn.
"Hey Zinn." he says in a friendly tone, since the last thing he needs right now is to get into a debate. His tone quickly switched to one of concern.
"Hows Antero doing?"

"That's so limited. Socialists and anarchists talk about their stupid revolution, the working class, and seizing the means of production. So what? 99% of the world would be the same. It's just transferring technology and power into a wider base. Society would go on, with most people working and living in their technologized environments. Everyone would still be subject to forms of coercion and control. The desire for progress...the desire to be masters of the environment...the desire to use it as a tool rather than live with it as an equal. These are all oppressive! The end goal is not just the end of classes and governments. It is the complete remaking of society so that we can be liberated from ALL types of oppression. "

"I like technology." I say with a shrug. I walk into the kitchen to "microwave" some popcorn and check the "refridgerator" for more soda. I don't feel oppressed or out of touch with nature. I just really don't care.

Before I was captured by Red Infinity I managed to send a telepathic message to the feminists.
This is Bjork, I've been captured and am at the Ministry of Terror.
Then everything went dark for a while. When I wake up later, I have been beaten and am very weak. I can't believe that Ursarian woman would betray our people and capture me like this. How could an Ursarian work for Red Infinity?

Bassarov makes french toast for breakfast and goes to the living room to see who is stirring. He sees that Zinn and Freakboy are now awake. "Good morning, care for some French toast?"

"Oh, no thank you. I just came to pick up everyone's stuff. I'm not hungry right now," Zinn answers honestly. Usually, she will always take food when offered, but she doesn't like being around Freak boy for long periods of time. She has nothing against him personally, he just frustrates her. She thinks he is a hypocrite.
"Thank you for letting us stay. Antero isn't possessed or whatever anymore. However, we still need to find him a real psychologist."
Zinn pauses, and purses her lips.
"I would like to take out Mischa's stitches before I go. It won't take long."

"Tell me about the exorcism. Did you find out why the dybbuk was attached to the person?" Ezra asks with curiousity.

"I think it is all about balance. Technology is useful, but it should be regulated so that it does not have such a harmful impact on the environment," BB explains.
"I am one of the few moderates in the world. We're a rare breed I suppose."
BB gets Bjork's message.
"Holy nuts, we have an emergency! Bjork's at the Ministry of Terror. We have to go get her. Red Infinity is especially cruel to Ursarians."
((Be back in an hour or two. Studying.))
