"I should get some more rest. It was nice talking to you Mishca." Bassarov smiles and goes to sleep.

"Come on now, don't be shy. Go ahead and help yourself to some pie. It's mighty tastey!" Carter says as he dishes up pie to Peter, Lena, Chai, and anyone else in the room.
"Nice warm, delicious peach pie. Now that's what life's all about, folks."

Kautsky enters the cafeteria after a couple of particularly harsh hours in the mine. He sits down next to Dinari Dollar, whom he has tried to talk to on a few occaisions but with little luck. He takes a seat across from him and takes a heatry bite of the gray slop he was fed today.
"You don't look so well. You really ought to cheer up, Mr. Dollar!"

"How can you be so happy here? I just don't get it. This IS hell."
Dinari looks down at the slop in a bowl.
"The food, the labor, the cold...I can't take this any more!"

"You really need to learn to make the most of the situation. Anyway, if you kiss up to the guards and cooks here, they will sneak better food for you. I have some fresh fruit back in my room if you are interested."

"What's the catch? What do you want from me?"

"There is no catch. Why would you think that? Do you think I am trying to trick you? Oh no, there is nothing to be gained from that."

"I believe in giving to the poor, not necessarily taking from the rich." Kautsky replies.

"How do you give to the poor without taking something from someone?"

"Let me restate that. I am not for the tearing down of society, but for it's restructuring. I believe that nothing should be taken from those that already have, but, laws and taxes should be put in place to prevent them from amassing so much more. I believe that for the good of those without money, those with money should not be allowed to amass a scandalous fortune."

"I just think that everyone should be able to make as much money as they can. If you have a good idea or a lot of talent, I don't want some government telling me how much money I can or can't have."

"I would disagree. A person only needs so much. I have nothing against wealth, but there comes a point where excess wealth is ridiculous. I say, redistribute some of that wealth to the rest of society, that others less fortunate may benefit. So, I do support income caps, but, I do not support the liquidation of classes entirely."

"You know, I think you socialists have things all wrong. What we need is less restrictions and lower taxes. Don't get me wrong, I feel for poor people, but I just don't think that it is the governments job to take care of people. When the government steps in and props everyone along, it just makes more poor people since people see that they don't need to work in order to make it."

"Then what do you think is the role of government? Also, if it is not the government's role to take care of people, whose role is it?"
