Machine Interface - Zephyr used to be a complete human who had his brain electronically transfered into a mechanized clone of a politician. His brain has been thus computerized, giving him access to vast networks of information as well as the ability to interface with anything mechanized.
Appearance: Zephyr's outward appearance is an attractive twenty year old male, although he can assume many identities without changing bodies.
Personallity: Zephyr is cold, calculating and lives up to the robotic part of him. The emotional centers of his brain were damaged when it was computerized, so it is very difficult for him to display any emotion outside of what his masters tell him to display.
Sometimes he has been known to show caring, compassion, even an interest in saving a human life. All of those things, however, Zephyr struggles with on the inside. He fights his own humanity.
Story: In the mid 90's, the government of the United States tested a prototype weapon. An engineered cyborg with a cloned body, a cymek. The first trial runs of the prototype cymek ended in disaster, the entire facility was destroyed. Four years later, seven more cymeks were produced. Seven to allot for failure. Zephyr was one of those cymeks. Before he was a cymek, he had been a domestic terrorist. He was a criminal and was scheduled to be in prison for the rest of his life for treason and sedition. The Pentagon figured that Zephyr would be a perfect candidate, offering him a reduced sentance. Foolishly, Zephyr accepted. For the next two months, the government augmented his brain. They deleted most of his long-term memory and in its place they taught him killing arts. Those two months were hell, as Zephyr fought himself. Two sides of him were struggling for control, the new killer and the old human. Eventually, his human side lost.
Zephyr became their new puppet, and did his job very well. For the next six years, Zephyr killed for the United States of America. He killed and never once asked why. He had no joy, no love, no hate, nothing. It was simple. Carry our orders and live. Self-preservation was the only human thing left.
In the year 2000, Zephyr was ordered to assassinate the leader of a well-known anarchist terror cell. The terror cell had been a thorn in America's side for seventeen months and had continued to escalate activity to the point where anarchy could no longer be ignored. Zephyr successfully infiltrated the cell and came under the pretense of becoming a loyal zealot. The cell's leader grew aware of Zephyr's presence and had him sorted out. Rather than kill, torture or demand a ransom, the leader had Zephyr reprogrammed to serve the cell. The programers also did their best to reintegrate human emotion back into Zephyr with limited results. Now Zephyr specializes in spying, theft, kidnapping and the seeding of misinformation. Ocassionally, a major player in the fight against the cell will need removal. Zephyr is always ready for that day, his semi-restored concience convincing him that sometimes killing is a necessesity. To this day, Zephyr still engages in the cell's dirty work. Anarchy is closer to attainment, but Zephyr is no closer to atonement.
Recently, the cell has stepped up their actions and has begun to work on international operations in the Asiatics, especially in the conflicted regions of Russia and China. They are hoping that Zephyr can win the world in their favor and assassinate the supreme dictator of the world, Lin-Sat.
