The moderators are talking about implementing a warning system on this rpg. I want to hear what the members think about this and I want the moderators to put forth their ideas here for people to consider.
The idea that we are leaning towards is a system where if you do not listen to the moderators three times, you will lose some posts as well as a power. The power is to be decided by myself and will be a useful power.
The more offenses, the more posts and powers you lose, until finally, the offending member has their character deleted.
An offense is talking back disrespectfully, swearing at a mod or another member, not changing a post or power when asked to, and other offenses of this nature.
I have not had a warning system in the past because I want this to be a member based rpg. I want the members to decide our policies and I want room for discussion when a moderator's decision is thought to be unfair.
I want Red Infinity to be unique in its willingness to give power to the members.
So, do you feel we need a warning system and if so, what sort of warning system seems fair?
I would like some system of dual respect. I think that members should always have the right to argue with a moderator decision but I also think that moderators should be respected. All members should be respected. Some moderators have been disrespected.
I would like to discuss this issue and how we can build a friendlier relationship between members and moderators.

I have been a major proponent of this from the beginning, so I support the warning system.

That seems fair enough. However, I would like to clerify something.
If we disagree with the Mod's choice can we still settle matters through outside mediation (ie. AIM, YIM, or through Privates Messages) and avoid involving the actual board in the matter.

I think Peter raised a very excellent point. We can solve things outside of the actual board. We should try to do that whenever possible to avoid some conflicts.

Continued disrespect or defiance of the request of the mod while in out-of-board conversation would still count towards an offense.

I think if its a personal attack on the moderator outside the board, then it should be an offense. Ever heard the expression "Don't nuts where you eat."? It makes a valid point. Some members do carry on things past the board. If they disagree with a decision and want to discuss it in a civil manner over PM, or IM, then it shouldn't be an offense. However if they should come out with something like "You nitpicking MF" That should be an offense.

I think its a good idea. I don't usually argue with Moderators so I'm all for this. But I don't we should count outside mediation as an offense. Part of the reason you want this implemented is because OOC wars become annoying to everyone playing, not just the moderators.

Well the reason why we move for outside mediation being accounted is because that way we don't have to clutter up the board with out of character posts, while still discussing the request the moderator has. If they continue to refuse outside of the board to change their post, power, profile, ect. then is it right for us to just forget they refused?

A question has arised. Some members wanna know about penalties for moderators.

The penalties would apply to moderators, junior moderators, and everyone else.
However, I can't think of an instance where any of the senior moderators have done anything serious, like swear at people, or been an arse about changing things.

Yes, of course we as moderators are required to abide by the same rules as the members, for we are members as well.
