A New Faction Arises

I will be starting a new faction soon, at the moment Void is moving around and gaining recruits. If you are interested, here are the specifications for it. This will probably be transfered to the Political Groups forum soon.

Order of Justice

The Order of Justice is a completely neutral faction. We believe that there should be a balance of power between many nations, but are a pacifistic nation and will not engage in war unless it is a last resort as a measure of self-defense or the defense of another country that has been wronged.

The Order of Justice borrows elements from many different systems.

The Order of Justice believes wholeheartedly in free trade, and the right of businesses. However, the Order of Justice reserves the right to impose fair sanctions upon businesses agreed upon by business owners and workers so that both groups can gain.

The government is responsible for the funding of several things, chief among them being medicare, education, and the legal system. The Order of Justice believes that all people are entitled to education, medicare, and justice, and thus the programs are socialized so that everyone can have free access to these vital institutions.

Although Void is the founder of the Order of Justice, when it is stable he will step down and allow for a democratic election. Should the people will it, he will run for office.

The government is run much like the old American government was, in that there are three branches of the government that run the country. The system makes use of the Legislative, Executive, and Judicial branches of the government, and the form of checks and balances that America used.

All elections are governmentally funded and there are strict rules regarding mudslinging. A candidate must state what they are going to DO for the country, and may not state what their opponents cannot do. The government must give equal coverage to anyone in any election, the use of private funds and donations is illegal.

All laws within the Order of Justice are made under the question of "Does it protect rights from being infringed upon?" In essence, just about anything is allowed within the Order of Justice, so long as it does not infringe upon the rights of another group.

The Order of Justice is strictly neutral and serves neither the rebels nor Red Infinity.

I'll put up a bit more later, but that's the basic framework.

Keep in mind that Red Infinity won't likely see you as nuetral. You may claim neutrality, but true nuetrality to Red Infinity is following the laws without question or thought.

Also, much of this seems to apply to a nation. There are no sovereign nations, towns, territories, etc. Everything is controlled by Red Infinity.

Your internal organization politics can be based on your ideas about elections, but remember, nothing in the world is free or democratic.

I know. The ideals the organization upholds is the belief that that is the way, and they would act as a sovereign nation to a point, being that they wouldn't interfere with Red Infinity. They believe that that is the way a government is to be run, and on the inside that is how it will be run. The organization will profess neutrality, and won't operate too openly, so as not to incur the wrath of Red Infinity. Internally, it will operate under those ideals as much as possible under Red Infinity, so certain things within the organization will be as free as possible.

I don't think that quite works. However, instead of professing neutrality, your group could be a group of democratic revolutionaries. I don't mean democratic in the current political sense, but democratic in the old-style, revolutionary sense. Instead of being neutral, you would be a slightly reactionary group. The FRA kind of fills that position, but they tend to be way more militant, so they are not representing democracy.

Basically, your group cannot be neutral if they have specific beliefs about how the government should be run.

The neutrality comes from being less militant, they are unwilling to involve themselves in war unless there is no other choice. It's much like America was during World War II. The democratic revolutionaries does actually fit with the agenda because of their beliefs, but they would be far, FAR less likely to act upon it than the FRA, for example, unless (or until) they are attacked.

That's rather unrealistic, considering that an attack by Red Infinity is basically inevitable. Non-violence doesn't mean neutrality. Look at Eternal Light.

I know, and I also know that an attack on Red Infinity is inevitable. That's the way Void wants it though, he refuses to take sides unless forced to do so.

By actively not supporting Red Infinity's stalinism, the group automatically chooses a side.

Of course, but it doesn't necessarily choose the rebels side, it chooses its own. The profession of neutrality is in a political sense, being that it sides with neither Red Infinity nor the collective rebels. Even if it does end up in opposition of Red Infinity that doesn't mean that it will by default side with the rebel factions.

It doesn't mean that you are neutral, it just means that you are a third side. LIF is not allied with the rebels, but they are still a rebel group. The same goes for Hagana and La Resistance.

I can see your point. It's hard to be truly neutral in an RP that has one major power, however, so I believe I will keep the faction as is unless there are any serious problems to how they are set up.

I will note though, that by definition, a neutral country is one that is aligned with neither side in a way. If the faction chooses to remain "neutral" it simply is choosing to not side with the other factions, which this faction has chosen to do.

It isn't who you are allied to, it is who you are opposed to. Your group's philosophy is anti-Red Infinity's philosophy, so they will not be neutral.

If they aren't acting against Red Infinity can it truly be considered against Red Infinity? While they might dissent with Red Infinity's views they DO recognize its authority, more or less. They have their own ideas but that doesn't mean that they have to be in direct opposition unless Red Infinity deals the first blow. While I, personally, know that Red Infinity is going to strike against the faction, Void, the character, believes in a truly neutral stance and will do so as long as he is able. I cannot give my knowledge of what is going to happen to Void, that's metagaming. The organization professes neutrality, which is their credo. That doesn't necessarily mean that that is how it is going to turn out, it just is what they believe. I know that it won't end up neutral for very long, I knew that when I created it.

They can be neutral in their own eyes but Red Infinity would not see them that way. I am not sure how the group fits into the scheme of things. Maybe you could make them similar to the democratic party of today. It would represent a more mild capitalist group than the FRA.

If your group was a more mild American nationalist group that would be cool. You could join our United Nationalist Alliance (UNA). We only have France and Israel right now. It is downright sad. We are like Bush's coalition of the willing, except we don't even have Poland.
