Dariya is a distant relative of Dmitri Pisarev, a Russian nihilist from the 1850s. She is a full blooded vampire by birth, and as such, was never given a choice whether or not she wanted to be a vampire.
She grew up in a nice estate outside of St. Petersburg and was home taught by her parents and world class tutors. Everything she ever wanted: vacations, fine clothes, rich foods, etc were always available to her and as an only child her parents doted on her.
She was very spoilt and well taken care of, but this lifestyle did not ease her depression. She felt stiffled and alone. She even tried to take her own life.
Eventually she moved away from her parents to travel the world and find her purpose in life.
She soon learned that there is no meaning in life nor any governing truth to the universe.
This set her on a course to find other nihilists and perhaps find comfort in people like herself.
