I hope that I have everything here and that I haven’t done anything terribly wrong. I have read through all the information, rules, and such, but I still feel slightly confused. If you find that I’ve made some mistakes then I won’t be surprised. Please do be kind though; they aren’t from lack of trying. Oh and if it's too long, sorry, I just didn't want to leave anything out.
Real Name: Anna-Maria Österholm
Nickname: Lydia
Age: 70
"Physical" age: about 20
Race: nymph/human crossbreed
Nationality: Finnish (Swedish speaking Finn)
Gender: female
Alignment: environmentalist
Organization: The Green Party, shares common interests with the Rebel groups
Occupation: writer, artist, naturalist
Ministry: ---
Weapon: Doesn’t like using weapons but when forced to her weapon of choice is a Crossbow. Old fashioned is good in her mind.
Stats:
Intelligence-300
Strength-100
Charisma-100
Spirit-150
Defense-100
Endurance-150
Speed-150 (extra 50 for half-breed)
Powers:
Chameleon: She has the ability to blend in with her surroundings, not literally, she doesn’t change color, it’s more of a mindset. She just knows how to make herself seem uninteresting and that helps her to disappear into the scenery.
Weather Prediction and Sensitivity: She can sense small shifts in the weather currents and natural patterns and can therefore predict weather and environmental changes rather accurately. She is very attuned with the Finnish nature in general and never feels right when she is far away from it.
Weaknesses:
She suffered a chemical injury to her eyes in her youth and was rendered color-blind by this. She also suffers temporary blind spells and has difficulty seeing in extremely light or dark circumstances.
She is also exceptionally sensitive to chemicals of all kinds; her reactions to those are difficulty breathing and dizziness. Because of her intolerance she prefers to live as close to nature as possible, she tries to avoid big cities, and therefore pollution, as much as she can. This, and her heritage, has lead to her great love for the environment.
Appearance: She is tall and slim with long flaxen hair that goes down past her waist. She usually keeps it swept up in a tight bun however so that it won’t be in her way. Her eyes are an extremely light shade of blue/gray and her features are very fine. She is a pretty girl that never quite crossed the border into beauty. Not because of her appearance but more because she lacks the personality for it.
Personality: She is passive and neutral by nature but she will easily take to arms if she feels strongly enough about something. She enjoys discussing and debating with people but will also defend herself with force if she finds it to be necessary. She feels an obligation to protect her childhood regions and the Finnish culture as a whole. She can be spontaneous and flamboyant, but usually keeps to her guise of calculating calm. She can be defensive if something strikes too close to home, but does not otherwise sympathize too well with others. She has never had any good friends and therefore does not get along too well with others.
Story:
Lydia is part of a small minority of Swedish speaking Finns that live in the coastal regions around Helsinki. She was born in the Hanko region and lived there until the age of eight; she always remembers that part of her childhood as the happiest time of her life. When she was eight she and her father were forced to move to the capital for job purposes, the economy was poor in the Finnish countryside and her father was forced to search for another career if he was to make a living. Up until then Lydia’s mother had never been a part of her life, she had lived with just a father for as long as she could remember. This move to Helsinki came to change her life forever, and she was torn away from the calm and security she had always felt with her father at home in the Finnish archipelago. She loathed the city in all its concrete glory and longed to return to her former home. Then one day her mother came to her and dragged her off on a strange journey. According to her Lydia was in great danger, her father had upset some high politicians and would not be able to take care of her for a time. Lydia could never understand this because she had always known her father to be a very passive person. However she went with her mother anyway, she really had no other choice, and questions were not to be asked.
That was how it began, at the age of 10 she started on the global journey that would take many long years to finish, if it was ever really over. Along with her mother she visited every continent and most all of the countries, some of them even twice. But they never stayed long, they never made a home and they never truly lived anywhere. Lydia never had any formal schooling and no firm friends during those years. The journey seemed to go on forever, and in comparison with the lifespan of some maybe it did. They traveled for almost 60 years before they finally returned to Finland. Though neither mother nor daughter were even remotely old and decrepit by that time. Her mother had not physically aged a day and Lydia appeared to be about the age of 20 since her aging process was slowed, if not stopped, by her half-nymph bloodlines. Mentally she was jaded and weary from the experience, but none of that mattered, she was home again, everything would be all right now. But she would soon come to realize that things were never that simple.
During their journeys they had met upon more than their share of politics as well. They tried their best to avoid it but still it often succeeded in catching up with them. They noticed the oppression and the injustice even as they fled the scene. Lydia longed to ask her mother about it but never dared because her mother seemed to be greatly frightened by it, and so Lydia became so as well. Sharing her mother’s hatred for money and power, her fear of politics and government even if she didn’t understand why. What she wished for was a place where everyone was equal, different but equivalent. She watched the politicians and thought that they were going about it entirely wrong. One could not force people into equality and submission; there would always be someone willing to take up the fight. And when she returned home she realized with great sadness that her dear country and its inhabitants had met the same fate as well. That was when she decided to join the ranks. Rather than standing on the sidelines and commenting on someone else’s failure she chose to help, to maybe make the world a better place. She was not skilled at battle as such but figured that she could aid in some sort of planning phases. She would do what she could, and if she couldn’t help them then she would retreat, gladly leaving the job up to those who still dared wage the war. She was not a coward, but she wasn’t a fool either, and if someone else could do it better then she would give them free rein.
