Ursarians worship Otavius, the bear god, who is also known as Ursas or Otva. He resides in Tounela in a cabin. This cabin is located a 5 week walk from the River Tournela crossing the birch forests of the dead and the land of Lintokotolienen, keeper of spirit birds.
He appears in a bear form, but like all Ursarians, has a human like form.
Ursarians worship him as well as their ancestors, and the moon goddess Kuu, who is the wife of Otavius. The moon is therefore a sacred symbol to Ursarians and the symbol of their religion.
As an interesting fact, female Ursarians are stronger than males. They have a stronger concentration of Manala energy, and are therefore more spiritual than males. They are strongest during certain cycles and stages of their life. Ursarian society is not matriachal but is matrilinial, in that propery and land is passed from mother to daughter, and men adopt their wives last name at marraige. Children are also given Matronymics, or names that are based off of their mother's name.
There are four clans:
Black Bear- the most common
Brown Bear- another common clan
White Bear- a rare clan
Asian Bear- a nearly extinct clan.
Ursarians are a warrior race. Most aspire to die in battle so they can meet their god. Those who prove themselves in battle can recieve the status of "Great God Bear" Which is a state of perfect power and results in some sort of physical transformation.
In their bear state, Ursarians are actually up to 2 times larger than regular bear.
Overall, Ursarians are stronger than humans, but generally not as smart or creative. They are also more resistant to change.
The biggest threat to Ursarians is Red Infinity, who puts them in camps and has hunted them via their genocidal android Fate.
