Hmm... or, that same new regime will be totally tossed aside once America leaves Iraq. We have nothing but speculation on the whole tyrannt thing. The US was already being kind of tyranical by taking over Iraq for the oil though. Twas not nice at all.

There are too many feuding groups in Iraq. The only thing that can come from the event is civil war. Civil War rages across Iraq as we speak Kai, I don't know what your talking about. There are too many people who want control and who won't compromise for it. By using force to achieve it, nothing can be done, and by using diplomatic means, nothing can be done.
The only thing useful in that country is oil. You will show the rest of the world how futile it is to have America help you build a democratic nation. There are too many terrorists and too many groups vying for control. I say forget the country.

Ok so let's just say that we leave it. What happens? Yes this is hypothetical and I said we should stick to facts, but for purposes of this argument, what happens? You think magicly they will work out problems there.
I mean yeah, most of our attempts and ideas won't make it a whole lot better, but it still make a small amount of difference.
If you just leave it, Iraq is just going to be destroyed. As much science fictiony as this is, it is most likely going to be in chaos. And if you leave it alone long enough, the chaos spreads, to other regions.
This "Lose to save" thing applies here. You save a few hundred lives, you lose a few thousand.

Well, then you lose a few thousand. Unless they do something about it, that's the way things work. I agree that the only good thing in Iraq is th oil, but I don't think we could compare oil prices to the cost of human lives... or can we? Maybe to Bush we can spare a couple hundred... or thousand people's lives. Personally, I want Iraq to end the whole civil war, but since I don't know how to, and I can't come up with a good soulution or alternative, I won't complain about what Bush is doing anymore. btw, saving a couple hundred and losing a couple of thousand isn't such a good trade off.

The hundred is the soldiers and the thousand is the civilians...

-Damascus
I don't care what they are, the fact that so many are being killed is what matters to me.

If any other country is like Iraq, it doesn't matter if Iraq's problems spread, because whatever happens in the other country, it isn't going to change either.
Forget Iraq. I say we kill the terrorists, steal the oil and leave. Move all of those people to some other countries and they can assimilate. The Native Americans did and we pretty much wiped out their entire people. I know it sounds cruel, but there is nothing left for that country. Trying to set up a democracy in that country is like saying you can win the war on Terror.

I partly agree...I do want them to leave, but they shouldn't steal Iraqs recourses.
And the day that we win the fight on terror, we would have set up a utopia.
But, you can't kill the terrorists...You will just have to keep fighting. That's the thing US troops are doing now, aside from attempting to set up a democracy.

We'll never win the war on terror, but, unfortunatly, we'll keep going at it with zeal to no end. The idea that we could get rid of terrorism is a great one, but a hopeless one too. People will always disagree with something, even if its only for nothing else than attention. Anutsaka's right though, we should just take the oil and leave.

It is their oil. It is not up for grabs.

I saw it today. And Yamato, as long as we're there and they can't do anything about it, the oil is up for grabs.

IM too young to vote but I feel that Bush is dumb. I am very dispointed in his so-called "attempts" in finding WOMD. Too many people, young people who had potential, have died because one man insisted on settling a feud his father didnt finish in the Gulf War. Its sad that I've personally lost 3 uncles and 7 cousins for a mans revenge.
Kerry might not be the bomb choice but he is the lesser of TWO evils.

Revenge? I don't think that that's it, but then again, I think he's there for the oil. Both are pretty good ideas. Its probably both.
