Actually, I've had that conversation before with my friend Dave....
I told him that's prefectly fair, because a lot of people don't the Velvet Underground. They were managed by Andy Warhol, who a lot of people thought was stupid, and they played really weird music about drugs and bondage and stuff. And then there's the poetry. and the violin. I like them though. And you can't deny they had a huge influence on alternative music as a whole, inspiring glam, goth, punk, and a whole mess of other alternative genres.

But it's FUN. Getting to hear people's perspectives on things is interesting at the least. Especially when I totally disagree. You know Zinn, sometimes I think you say the opposite of me just to try and piss me off on purpose. It doesn't matter what I say, you're just going to disagree with me anyway. I could say that potatoes grow underground and you'd tell me differently. btw, EMO SUCKS

You don't even listen to emo. I've actually listened to Linkin Park. Therefore, my opinion is more valid than yours, because instead of just saying I dislike Linkin Park, I've given reasons why I don't like them.
Potatoes do grow underground. I'm not just being contary, I'm stating my opinions. I'm sorry if my opinions conflict with yours.
And while I am using this one, I am Andrew, mmmkay?

How the f'uck do you know what I listen to and don't? You don't know me so don't pretend you've got me figured out! Your opinion is just that, an opinion. It is no more valid than mine. If you're gonna argue with me, then feel free. But don't EVER say that your opinion counts more than someone elses. That's some pretty high and mighty s'hit you're saying there. I've listened to Emo, and it sucks. My opinion is just as informed.

And yet somehow you can't name a single emo band you've listened to.

Here's some Emo bands I've heard and they all suck,
Aim of Conrad, Beltwork, Comfort, disasternaut, GroundFloor, Halobox, Hickory Tenpin, Hopscotch Era, Intransit, Kerith Ravine, Left in a Dream, Less-than-Perfect, Mendicants, minus, peterbuilt, Right as Rain
You might have not heard of these guys and girls, but only in my opinion are they bad, but if you like emo check some of these guys out.

I hate to act like a moderator but Ivan and Kasher should cut it out. People are entitled to their own opinion and though it may seem frustrating (to Kasher) that Ivan (perhaps) doesn't listen to Emo, he probably has.
Whatever the reason, the fighting should stop, please?

Anutsaka they aren't fighting. THey are having a healthy discussion on their thoughts, therefor putting them in no fault of the rules.

Nah, Anutsaka is right. This is stupid. I don't feel like fighting about Linkin Park or Emo, and Ivan seems to be taking everything personally, which is not good. So yeah, I will not razz LP anymore.
Aim of Conrad is OK, but Drives Like Jehu is so much better. Aim of Conrad is sort of a Drives like Jehu ripoff, and they have the most stereotypical band name ever. I like Beltwork. I don't like GroundFloor. We have soooo many bands that sound like that in Buffalo, it's not even funny. Actually, I take that back, it's really funny. Some of the bands we have here make the Locust sound like Fugazi. Seriously. Inferis has to be the worst band ever. All they do is scream and hit random chords, and their screaming isn't even very good. I like Hickory Tenpin. They're pretty sounding. I don't like left in a Dream, because emo-core is the sorriest excuse for a genre ever. We also have a lot of bad emo-core bands around here. I haven't heard the other ones you mentioned yet.
Question... Do you go to rockbands.com a lot? Because those are all unsigned bands on rockbands.com. My friend Claire buys so much stuff from them. That's actually where I heard that stuff.
I guess it's less indie, but I prefer bands on actual labels, like Dischord, Alternative Tentacles, and Saddle Creek.
Of course, by the indie rule, the less well known a band is, the cooler it is. Therefore, the coolest music in the world would be if you kidnapped a hobo, made him play a song for you, and then killed him so no one else could hear the song.
Nirvana is cool.

Hehe, yeah you're right. I was the only one going over the edge in that argument...... And Nirvana is awesome. It seems like all the good musicians are emotional nutcases.

Dude, it's over, OK? I feel bad for Kurt because everyone seems to think he was effeminate, controlled by Courtney, and weak. I think I'm actually going to have to quote Courtney when I say "It's like they've castrated him." Apparently HBO is making a movie about Cobain's last days. I do not like the idea.

No I don't go to unlisted bands. One of my friends also listens to all these unknown bands online and tells me about them.
Despite the fact that they are emo they still are pretty good.
From what I heard from Aim of Comrad, it is ok, although some of the music could use some new chords. I have heard some of the worst chords ever put together by them.

Ehhh, I really don't get what the thrill is of listening to unknown bands. Some of them are good, but some of them play really unorganized music and have poor instrument skills. I don't like any of our local bands..... cuz they suck. They played at this coffee house thing that we have and they SUCK!!! But not all unknown bands are bad.
And a movie about Cobain doens't exactly sound fun. Why would someone want to watch a reinactment of a man suffering through the most painful time of his life, making the worst decision of his life? It's the same reason I don't like the Passion. I know that dying for our sins wasn't the worst decision of Jesus' life, but who wants to watch Jesus get beat for two hours? Honestly, if you're a Christian and you really support Jesus, should you be watching a movie where he gets the s'hit kicked out of him?
