Well, the Bat Cave was in Britain, right? Sioxie and the Banshees are from Britain. There is a hella lot of Goth music from Britain.

What are you talking about? Everyone knows that the Bat Cave is in Gotham City! Geez, read some Batman.
Don't worry, I'm kidding
Anyway, I like Linkin Park and Evanescence, and I don't think it's fair that people say they suck just becuz they're famous. To be a good musician, do you have to not be successful? I don't get it...
Oh, here's some more evidence that Evanescence is Christian Goth
"My god, my tourniquet! Return to me salvation! My god, my tourniquet! Return to me salvation! Do you remember me? Lost for so long. Will you be on the other side? Or will you forget me? I'm dying, praying, bleeding, and screaming! Am I too lost to be saved? Am I too lost? My god, my tourniquet! Return to me salvation! My god, my tourniquet! Return to me salvation!"

I see the Christian, but I don't see the goth.
I don't dislike Linkin Park because they're famous. I dislike Linkin Park because of their sappy teen angst ridden lyrics, despite the fact they are all in their twenties and one of them is married, I dislike their rapper, and I dislike their annoying, repetative music.

Teen riddin I disagree! I don't know any teens with the problems they talk about. And their rapper is a lot better than most rappers I've listened to. But even so, I think the songs with the singer are better.
Here's the Goth line: "I'm dying, praying, bleeding and screaming"
Goth=Dark and Evanescence is very dark. Evanescence is awesome too!

Linkin Park Rocks. So does Nickle Back, despite the fact I havn't heard a new song for a while.
Ivan, that isn't goth. Those words and phrases that are like that are expressed in many songs. Thats just a christian song. No goth.
"I'm dying, praying, bleeding and screaming", thats like what Christ did in the Passions of The Christ.
And I also think Somewhere Only We Know by Keane is really good.

My god, do you know what that means!?!
JESUS WAS GOTHIC!!!!!!!
Le GASP!!!
But seriosuly folks, Kai is right. JUst because a song is dark, does not mean it is goth.
Kai, you don't know any teens that feel alienated, angry at their parents, depressed, or sad over a break up? I find that very hard to believe.

Ok, define Goth?
Goth isn't anti-christ. Goth is not satan worship. Goth is dark rock.

I do. Lol, I am angry at my parents, and sometimes deppressed because of school. But some people I know who REALLY REALLY are deppressed don't go to EVENESENCE, they go to The Velvet Underground and people like that, to help them calm down.'
Well Ivan it depends on what level of gothic your willing to go for. I mean people like you and others who want to listen to gothic but not to a really extreme point might listen to light dark rock and call that goth. People who seriously are goth, will listent to satanic dark hevey punk metal music that has themes of death violence and lyrics that just makes you want to kill yourself and completely paint your nails and dye your hair black, then get high and kill yourself with LSD's.

I LOVE THE VELVET UNDERGROUND!!!!! AHHHHHHH!!!!!!
Um, yeah Lou Reed is one of the few people that reduces me to screaming nine-year old at a boy band concert mode. Sorry.
Gothic music is about the rejection of convention. It is heavily influenced by nihilism, hence all of the black.

Right, I agree that there are different levels of Goth. Evanescence is about level 1 goth, but my point is level 1 goth or level 10 goth, it's still goth....
As for the kinds of music I listen to, I listen to all different kinds, ranging from hard rock, classic rock, new rock, punk rock, light goth, dark goth, all the way to anime theme songs.
Hey Zinn/Andrew! Just cuz teens experience these emotions doesn't mean that these emotions are exclusive to teens. Adults feel neglect, rejection, etc.

Well, teens get the full emotion of it cause they got all their raging hormones, and they think their life is all screwed when really its just fine. Whereas an adult might be deppressed about something, and although they are angry they still feel happy about something nonetheless.
Remember you can always find light in the darkest corners, unless you don't want to find it.
That's what I hate about young teens these days (13-14. They act so pesimistic for no reason, it's just stupid watching them.

Evanescence is not goth at all. Saying Evanescence is goth is like saying Blink-182 is punk. They just aren't no matter how hard they try.
I know they don't, but how many people over the age of 35 listen to Linkin Park? The target market is teens, and the music is directed at teens.

Ok despite what you think andrew people still disagree. I mean, if someone said "The Velvet Underground sucks, its just a bunch on mental people singing" obviously you would get mad and start an argument here.
So peoples opinions differ. We shouldn't make this huge argurment about it.
