"Good. They are all I care about in this life anymore, and I will stay loyal to you for their sakes, nothing else." I sigh, wanting to leave or die, but knowing I can do neither.

"I could have the rebels try to kill the operator before she is brought to the Ministry of Information. Do you know her name and where we can find her? I have not seen Erika for a few days. I assumed that she went in to give birth to the operator."

"I understand. You should return to Iris. Soon she will be brought to the Ministry of Information. Make sure your time with her is quality while she is free."
I smile and drink the last sip of the tea Damascus made for me.

"U menya vsyo khorosho." Stalin replied, feeling glad to find someone else who speaks Russian. Before Huey can answer, Stalin cuts in.
"Operator's name is Iras. She will be brought to Ministry of Science before being brought to Ministry of Information. While in Science Ministry she will be fitted with technical upgrades." Stalin said, gesturing to another set of charts and figures. "Assassin would be wise to strike while she is recieving upgrades."

"Thank you, I think I'll do that now." I leave as fast as I can whilst maintaining dignity, I then return to the hospital and sit in the chair in my room. Soon I doze off.

"Oh.. I was very lucky to have lived in a place where normal demons couldn't enter without freezing. The demon world isn't a pleasant place, so I know what you mean. I saw a very evil looking demon once when I was four, never left the Ice Lands again. Learned my lesson."
Lena says with a small smile. She doesn't bother to ask what 'amen' meant. She looks toward the window, and falls backwards with a silent scream, almost off the bench. A spider, not very big but Lena didn't care how big the spider was, was crawling down the side of the window from the outside.
One of her mean friends would tell her bad tales about spiders. That they could crawl inside your body and live inside you until they gave birth to 100 more spiders and that they would crawl from your mouth and ears as you died. Another tale was that even the tinniest spider's bite would cause a giant rash that when it turned purple meant you were going to die. It scared Lena so bad she would sleep for at least a month, thinking a spider would crawl into her bed. Even through spiders couldn't even live in the Ice lands.
Lena sits as close to the wall as she can get, legs against her chest, with her hands folded and eyes staring at the spider.

"Ochenb rad eta slyshet." Bassarov replies to Stalin. "Ya ne zhnayu. Eta adin probleme, kak mbi examb "Ministry of Science?" Bassarov says to Stalin once again. "I think it would be easier to try to kill her right away before she is brought to the Ministry of Science. We would have an easier time with the security of a hospital than with a major Ministry.
(excuse the fact that I am having a hard time expressing the Russian in Roman letters)

Whilst I am going through the domestic reports I find one about a private investigator named Holmes. I decide it's worth checking, we could use better intelligence, and if he's anywhere near as adept as his legendary ancestor...
I call Anima to my side and collect a heavy briefcase before heading to this Holmes' apartment...

Erika leaves and I sit in my living room for a long time. I feel bad for what I did to her, but it was all part of my job. Iris will serve Red Infinity and that is all that matters. Sometimes a person must do unpleasant things in the name of great things.

Post by Damascus on Dec 24, 2004 2:56:46 GMT -5
Damascus had been sleeping on the couch when Violet had come in and thank him for making tea. Before he could ask her any one of the many questions that had plagued him for the past days, there was a knock on the door. Violet became engrossed in the conversation she was having with the woman who came inside, and Damascus decided it was none of his business, so he went back to sleep. Other things may have happened, but Damascus didn't really care. He thought that Lady Violet might just be avoiding him by staying at work for so long everyday. Then again, she was a workaholic, so maybe it was just her nature to work long hours. In his sleep he muttered a bit to himself, tossed and turned occasionally, and he almost always had a smile on his face. Reality was a harsh miustress, there was no escaping her. But in his dreams, Damascus could forget everything and shape the world to his liking. If only life were so flexible.

Post by Sherman "Sherlock" Holmes on Dec 24, 2004 2:57:10 GMT -5
Sherman was relaxing at home, glad to have some free time. The phone hadn't rung all day and it was so rare to have a day to himself. He was reading his favorite novel, Hound of the Baskerville, and smoking a pipe in his favorite chair. The fire crackled slightly in the background as he was immersed in his book. Yes, today was a relaxing day indeed. However, he knew it wouldn't last. After all, there were many people, be they Red Infinity or Rebel, who requisition his services and he knew that sooner or later someone would call.

"Agreed." says Huey. "We have a very short time-frame. However, I am against the slaughter of an innocent. Is there any way we could just kidnap her and wipe out her memory, training her to lead a normal life as a Rebel soldier?"

Peter looks confused by Lena's behavior until he looks at the window. "Spider? Afraid of spiders are you?" He stands up and walks to the window, taking the spider in his hand. The tiny bug crawls over his skin, running like a racer.
"There's nothing to be afraid of. It's a Garden Spider. They eat aphides and such, helps keep plants healthy." Peter walks to the door and opens it, setting the spider on the outside wall of their room so it crawls away down the hall.
He comes back inside, closing the door. "Amazing creatures, spiders. I did a few papers on them in college." He sits down once more, looking at Lena, leaning his head on his hands. He smiles and sighs, "I wish my fears were as simple as your's are Lena."
