I agree completely, though I'm Luthern, not Wiccan. Some people I know think it's weird of me to be Christan and still believe all this. Well, to each their own. If they want to be close minded then so be it. It's nice to meet someone else who shares my hobby. It would be nice to talk everything with someone else.

I'm always open to talking about things like this. Most think i am weird or crazy because i believe its all real. I have even been used as a channel before...(thats was interesting)...but i do like the paranormal...i search out tv shows which use them and i always go to the new age section of the bookstore...you can find such treasures there...i have a very nifty book about vampires which actually describes it as a disease. It gives accounts and such...
Did you know that the earliest vampires were believed to be nothing more than a type of rabies...and people misunderstood and thought them possessed and such?...very interesting stuff i find...

Werewolves and vampires are only christian variations on older pagan tales. You can be Christian or Wiccan, and still believe. It isn't strange at all. Personally, I don't believe in either one. I think they're both based on fact though. Split personalities and schitzophrenia were often interpreted as lycanthropy by ancient people in Europe. The vampire tale stems from people infected with leprosy. Sunlight aggrivates the condition, and people can appear as if they are dead because bits of them are falling off. The drinking blood thing was a folk remedy in Romania. Still, one never really knows what exists and what does not exist. There are many unexplained phenomena, and my explainations don't cover everything. Perhaps they do, and perhaps they don't...
As far as horror fiction goes though, I am a huge zombie movie fan. I love George Romero.

I did, I have done a bit of reading up on Vampires and their appearance in different cultures. I explore the bases for the reasoning as well as the practical examples of said legends. That is, why they arose, not simply if they are true or not.

I love researching different cultures and different myths and legends...one of the things i do online so much is look up all manner of information...
especially when looking to interact with charis i always research them...or i research for my own charis...i use a lot of what i have read and what i have found when doing them too...
Most of the legends are based off of some fact...like an illness or some other such thing...but i refuse to believe that there is not something mystical about them as well...with all of the magick surrounding us at all times somethings must be present...even if they are hidden from us.
I believe whole heartedly that ghosts exist and vampires and werewolves and wereleopards and leprechauns and fairies and whatever other manner of being you wish to name. Each has a role in nature and the world...i love talking about this...makes me feel like i am not alone for once with a fascination...

I believe. That is all there is to it. Without proof, without having seen, I believe. After all, why not?

Exactly...no proof is needed when something feels right in your heart anyway...
I wanted to say before i went to bed that i enjoyed this chat tonight Jon...(and Sarin)...i look forward to chatting more...
Oh and for the record...i get a lot of my werewolf info for the rpg from a few books and mostly from an rpg that is owned by White wolf...i own the legends book for the rpg...it tells what is suppose to happen in the end...when it is all over...i love that rpg...alas i do not play but i keep up with it...i also don't have but want to get the book of nod from them...but my bookstore never has it and it has been back ordered for months now...

I downloaded it off Kazaa. I did read some of Gehenna in the store though.
Whitewolf does great work. I've been trying to find a good group though, I'm still looking.

I also found some which are based off of anita blakes storylines as well...(or the basic structure i mean)...i tend to look for online stuff because i am able to participate easier this way...no hr drive there and back all of the time...

I love Anita Blake. She is such a kick ass, brass balled, b'itch, or at least that's what the other characters in the books say about her.
Can you post the links to those sites?
