She did not share her parent's religious beliefs, and when she graduated early from state provided higher education, she became a productive member of the Communist machine. However, she soon became disillusioned with Communism, and saw the rotting and corruption. One day, Ariel stumbled across an Anarchist information website while surfing the web. She was fascinated by the concept of not having a government. She soon became a member of the local underground Anarchist movement in her area, and began writing. Her writing became extremely popular in the underground, and she wrote under the alias Locke, after the banned, long dead 21st century historian. However, because of that, she was discovered and arrested when someone gave a tip to the authorities. She spent two years in prison on charges of treason, but she was not executed because she was such an influential writer. Instead, they tortured her for information. She has diminished personal combat abilities because she has multiple healed fractures in both of her arms, a scarred left leg from being burned, and an artificial right eye, because her right eye was gouged out by an interrogator. Some rebels decided to break open the jail, and that is when Ariel made her escape. She stowed away on a cargo ship and went to Capital City, where she now hopes to join up with the Anarchist movement again. She has false identity papers, falsified personal documents, and surgically altered fingerprints. Her eye color has also been surgically altered.
