That's somewhat true. Kaonashi is dead. However, Kaonashi wasn't the the head bloodspeaker. Like all the other bloodspeakers that Kaonashi recruited, he too was a slave to a higher power (look upon the maho cult as a massive pyramid scheme). Kaitalish is the mightiest of all bloodspeakers, he was sealed in Jigoku for eons untold. When Iltanesh slew Kaonashi, Kaitalish used the energy released to free himself and travel to the mortal world.

Shapeshift: Kaitalish can take a humanoid form with any features he chooses. In this form he can speak and communicate in any language he has heard, as well as use all his maho abilities. Any wounds he suffers bleed black flame, and enough wounds will cause the body to break away and Kaitalish's true form to emerge.

Great Immolation: When Kaitalish is about to die or deems such an attack necessary, he begins to immolate, until he explodes in a burst of dark flame that engulfs the area around him. Kaitalish is burned to ashes, from which he rises from within seconds. He then flies back to his base, where he recovers from the battle.

Dark Ressurection: Kaitalish can, through the sacrifice of much blood and unholy rite, ressurect someone from the dead. They will be tainted, and will be bound to the bloodspeakers, as well as undead. In the case of PCs, their spirit must be willing, i.e. the player must consent to their character being used in this way. The ressurected person's weaknesses change to Jade and Crystal.
