Bassarov, can you please take into account the amount of powerplay that is going on?
I can only suggest that we either limit the number of powers a person gets total for that character or at least have mods regulate battles. The battles turn into OOC battles more than anything if you ask me.
Ask John, he's been in quite a few.

I think we should have mods to regulate powers, but still have our current system of gaining new powers after a certain number of posts. I also think that powers should be better explained, and be required to follow a theme that relates to the character type.

As I said in the earlier topic I started about powergaming (which I'm wondering if it is what sparked this) I agree with Zinn. Some of these powers are rediculous and don't really follow any logic behind the character's development beyond "I want to be invincible".
And maybe some set rules on the nature of powers. I've had the same person insist that all powers were different when it worked against him, and that all powers were the same when it benefitted him (I believe I PMed you about this earlier). Battles are usually interesting progressions of the story, but all the powergaming makes them more than a little rediculous.

That's pretty much what sparked it.
But I'm just trying to draw attention to it since little has been done about it despite many people's complaints on the topic.
I just thought I would give it more light so we actually do something about it.

haha.... very funny
but as i said before, battles help progress the story, even if at first they arent meant to, and mods usually interupt them saying that it is pointless...., well no battle is pointless, there is eventually something behind it that caused them to fight, and possibly in the future.
besides, mods usually dont care and hate watching battles, so they would just cancel the fight when they feel it isnt needed. but it shouldnt be up to them.

seriously john, I have to agree here.
Even the strongest being has weeknesses, there has to be someone who can beat you. YOu can't seriously tell me that Lin-Sat is soooooo much fun. Thats because hes boring, he never loses. And, you powerplay to. Believe me, i have several bones to pick with you
my suggestion, act like a noob. there sooooo good. They play well. They loose well.

The top 10 most powerful characters are
1. Ukko, who never fights or does anything, so really doesnt count
2. Lin-Sat
3. Violet
4. Fate, since he can not be destroyed
5. Kaschei
6.Surma, but he can not use his full power/Calithin maybe
7.Genovia, will surpass everyone and become a greater threat once her training is complete
8. Kith, when he transforms
9. Hope, but her powers are unrealized
10. Genki, but he doesnt know it or fight
*Copyed in the help board,question thread,page 3.*
These people as you can see in the list, are powerful for reasons. Even though these people are powerful, they can be defeated in other means. Anyone can defeat Lin-Sat. But in other means such as.. Chekers, chess perhaps, or maybe hearts.

Even if they are the strongest characters in the game, there is a very large difference between "powerful" and "invincible". Battles should be about the skill of the user, and how adept they are at using their numerous powers, not a bunch of old players God-modding so they get their way. If you can't stand on your own two feet in a fair fight (operative word: fair) I don't think you deserve such powerful characters.
I'll just start getting the null-power fields for my characters. I believe you are familiar with that one, John. That would certainly even the playing field more than a little.

I will try to deal with this issue and others once I return on the 26th, I have some new rules in mind. I wanted to have a power moderator, and have two fight moderators, but this has not helped the situation. Anyone want to moderate how powers are used?

Such is the price of a entirely free from RPG.
I say we make Grove the Power Usage Mod. He knows what he's talking about and he's a fair, even handed guy.

I volunteer to moderate battles, if you want me. I know I'm fairly new to this site, but I've been around and I know what's what.

I will read about the Universe thread in the information board Seppo, perhaps your right and I may have to agree. I haven't checked the imformation board for quit awile now. I hope that wasn't directed to me Kaonashi no Oni. The part, "If you can't stand on your own two feet in a fair fight (operative word: fair) I don't think you deserve such powerful characters." I've just realized that John always uses occ in fighting. Even when he's using other characters such as Maede, Lin-sat. Having a power moderator and fighting moderators is definitly a good idea, but I thought we already had those kinds of mods. I thought we discussed about that on the general board in the changes thread.

ok, im sick of this. Linsat is one of the strongest characters in this whole entire rpg..., even ukko would have a hell of a time to beat him, since his power is virtually unmeasurable..., each time he sucks up a soul, his powers grow tremendously, plus i do use my techniques. if it is powerplaying oh well, linsat is powerful, you cant just walk into the HQ and then go directly to him ordering for stuff, or getting a thingyy attitude. he could kill you on the spot., which most characters dont understand.... his powers rival that of the gods.... you cant expect for someone to just beat him..., ukko is the god of earth, he is linsats brother so to say...actually he is kuro's brother, which is the akujin in control of linsat.
as i said before, he does have one weakness which could possibly kill him.... but it is more of a character flaw then anything. you cant beat him by brute strength.
and as for mæda, yea, he did get strong, but i dont fight with him that much, only when it is part of the story line.
and for john. he is strong and has alot of techniques, and i dont powerplay with him. despite what you all say
